Behaviorism vs. "medicine"

Madison avenue influences your mind and behavior with behaviorism, not drugs.

Parents raise and teach children with Behaviorism, not drugs. (good parents that is)

The military reprograms people into soldiers with Behaviorism, not drugs.

You can train chickens to play baseball, play the piano and play tic-tack-toe with Behaviorism, not drugs.

Behaviorism works, but you can't put it in a bottle and sell it to suckers. You can use it to make people buy the idea that pills will cure their mental ills.

Intelligence is the ability to modify ones own programming and correct errors before they cause problems that cannot be corrected. I you are too stupid to manipulate and control your own mind and nervous system, someone else will take advantage of that.

Use to be that one was born every minute. Now it is every second.

The truths that therapists use to cure are so simple, basic and universal.

Use your mind and program it well and then reprogram it when needed otherwise you will lose it.

Brainwashing is easy but it is better to do it yourself.

Abu Ghraib

Rapes did occur at Abu Ghraib. When are Bush, Cheny, Rice and Rumsfeld going to be charged with and prosecuted for using rape as a war crime against incarcerated civilians?

@AJCalhoun

" For me, transmission usually occurs through the television. They mention it on the news, and within a few hours I'm pretty sure I have it. "

That quote is from the article.

Monkey see, monkey do.

She should not watch television.

Television programs mental illness.

It is a science, not an art form.

Intentional behavioral conditioning.

Simmer down there fellow!

What is the title of the article?

"Sick in the head"

Crazy, man! Crazy!

You think that crazy is a derogatory term but all those DSM terms are not? Get labeled as mentally ill and it can put a real limit on your options as well as toxify your mind and body.

I don't like war and I don't like drugging people with nerve poisons and pesticides - go ahead, vent. I also value people over profits. I also remember what it was like before the country went nuts.

You probably think the country isn't nuts.

i agree - the video technique sucked.

Video does not like to have very bright and very dark parts in the same image plus you are using incandescent lighting in the foreground with a daylight lit background - bad form. Send one of your staff to take a video course at a community college. I'll be in town on wednesday if you can't find someone who can do a decent job or is interested.

Congratulations upon discussing an actual issue instead of the drivel about racism and sexism as per Obama and Clinton.

No one in the oil industry really wants off shore drilling. An artificial shortage makes for bigger profits and the dirty secret is that well that were pumped dry years ago are now full and ready to be pumped again - once the price of oil goes well over 200 dollars a barrel. On second thought 300 dollars a barrel. Would you believe 400 dollars a barrel?

Oil, the damn stuff just keeps seeping up from deep in the earth! SHHHH! Don't tell anyone.

500 dollars a barrel - that's the ticket!

Mad World

More people seem to be crazy than sane these days, especially in my town. Maybe the John Birchers were right about fluoridation. Maybe it's all the people on pharmaceuticals with the side effects emulating OCD and psychopathy among many other less common side effects like mass murder followed by suicide or just being a silly goose. Maybe it is all the cooked brains from cellphones. Maybe it's the television constantly showing us a parade of psychos, depressants, manics, attention whores and assorted other whackjobs over and over again with no sane people portrayed to counteract the constant drumbeat of negative programming.

You can call it what you want and give it fancy names and specialized kinks of it but the bottom line is that people are crazy, insane and just plain stupid.

What can you expect from domesticated apes?

Some people should never ever watch television or go to the movies.

Monkey see, monkey do.

@Ben Sen

Joan Walsh?

No one cares that much about anybody but themselves to make all those posts in defense of Joan Walsh.

Trolls will often have conversations with their aliases in order to make themselves look like someone agrees with them.

The headlines here are often just trolls - editorial policy, no doubt. Same with half the articles. Since trolling is afoot, assumptions are only reasonable about such posters as "Ben Sen".

Meet the Press deserves Joan Walsh. The defense contractors would be thrilled.

Not trolling you Joan, just wishing you could move on to Meet the Press because that is what you are aiming for and where you belong. Your BS is GE quality! That is a sincere compliment. Not quite as good a s Disney BS, but substantial and weighty with a pungency that Disney eschews.

If you need any references, please refer to my posts.

Repetition.

Joan Walsh and the writers at Salon are not stupid. She and they know exactly what they are doing.

That is the problem.

There is now more bullshit hypocrisy than overwhelming stupidity.

This is progress?

Tibetan Buddhism

I know how popular the Dalai Lama is, so it is wrong to leave them out - in that one, no one has any human rights except the the Lamas who owned everyone else.

Human Rights for Tibet!

Bring back the good old days when a Lama could count on some human footstools!
