recycled CGI

I haven't seen the movie but the trailer has some scenes that seem like recycled CGI from other movies, LotR, the van Helsing movie, and some fantasy movie with an uglier dragon doing the same head butt to a stone bridge. I believe that the previous incarnation of the hair tail was one in which it was stabbed through the back and out the chest of the victim.

Pretty soon movie making will be no more of a chore than using garage band to make a top 40 song or hit dance piece.

SimONE is here.

Design

If they hire a designer to make it look cool, trendy and sexy it will sell.

What they have is just too unspecial and ordinary.

People do judge books by their covers.

If that is what they are selling

If that is what they are selling then there is a good chance that someone will be buying it.

Never underestimate the warbucks ability to sell war through their networks and paint the opposition as crazy nutjobs and treasonous threats to the homeland while portraying people like Giuliani as ordinary middle of the road American values types.

Either way, warbucks wins.

Let us be clinical and precise.

The correct terms are psychopath, sociopath, or one afflicted with boderline personality disorder, commonly refered to as assholes, s.o.b.s, bitches, predators, psychos, con artists, predators, scumbags, bad people, and just plain evil.

Associating positive words with it is spin and to what purpose other than making it more acceptable because there are only shades of gray and no such thing as bad and good or right and wrong.

Let us not be so impolite in the future and use the term psychopath as it is appropriate and effective in labeling these human predators.

In the context of politicians using derogatory terms for each other - "Pot calls kettle black."

Secure everything

The neighbor doens't have a right to anything and the primary reason that someone would stay in the deceased's house to to go through everything and take anything of value and the secondary reason to establish residency in the house and a stake in whatever happens with it.

People figure that when somebody dies that their stuff is fair game and they will rob the dead without any hesitation or qualms.

Once they steal your father's stuff they are unllkely to give it back.

The first gold coin my father ever earned is now with the family of his inlaws and I will never see it again along with the rest of his coin collection, WW II memorabillia including his helmet and who knows what else.

When someone is going to die, they had best distribute their stuff they have before they go to who they want to get it otherwise the predators take whatever they can.

You should share with your sister because she is family and her happiness is worth more than stuff. You sister should get the car if she wants it - an alledged promise from someone who is dying is neither likely, nor proveable, nor even seemly. Sounds like you have acquired a wannabe inlaw and you don't need that.

When a family member dies now, it's almost like you need to put an armed guard and locks on everything and that might not be an unreasonable thing to do given how low some people can go.

I cannot wait

I cannot wait to see what Zemeckis, Bruckheimer and Jackson to with Chaucer's Troilus and Criseyde, Ariosto's Orlando Furioso, Guillaume de Lorris' Romance of the Rose using state of the art CGI effects and a more modern sense of fashion.

Hey, how about Dante's "Divine Comedy"? I am pretty sure you can get some fart jokes out of that script. Maybe Dreamworks could handle that property.

Wouldn't it also be about time to do a remake of El Cid? Christians versus Moslems out to be a big sell with the financial backers and we could give them a little modern weaponry to snazz things up a little, you know, like naplam, cruise missles and propaganda. What a great slogan the film could have, "Not even DEATH can stop El Cid!!!" and a great tag line for the ages, "You can have Spain when you pry it from my cold dead fingers!!!" Nicholas cage would be El Cid and hopefully would do as well as he did in "The Wicker Man."

I can see that it will be a long time before I go into another movie theater.

Hey, has someone done a 3D CGI version of Huckleberry Finn yet?

I will volunteeer

I will volunteeer to be Salon's White House Press Corps, that would last as long as I didn't ask any real questions just like all the other members of the White House Press Corps.

Once you ask a real question, you are no longer part of the White House Press Corps.

What question you folks want me to ask?

I am not afraid of getting tased.

Send me some credentials. I know how to get to the White House already.

The Incredibles

I didn't see in in the theatres. Watching it on the tube is just fine. The CGI is spectactular. The characters and story are strictly Saturday morning cartoon fare and the movie is made to appeal to those with a single digit age.

Rent it or buy it? Why?

PHENOMENA

My mind was blown. I could have made a cool million dollars since somebody else did the exact same punchline with 911 and the envelope a couple of years ago and it was on tv. Was is Angel?

Maybe it's just deja vu.

I am thinking of a number.

Maybe it's just deja vu.

I am thinking of a number.
