[Read more letters about this article: Here]Oh yes they did that and all of that, but they didn't do it all the time. Those few that have been removed from circulation were acceptable in that social setting because the country was very racist and it wasn't good or nice but it was the context. Playing stereotypes is at the core of much of this new material, albeit a more politically correct form of it. We are also not talking about mere racially oriented humor or stereotyping, but attributing race to the cartoon animals. Why is Eddie Murphy a jackass in Shrek? Just about everything in a movie is done for a reason but things happen outside of the intent of the creator. Nothing in an animation movie can be done without a reason. Why should I trust their intent, especially when my bs detector keeps going off?
I liked the old Disney, but it lacked the educational value, common sense and truisms so evident in the others. Films and cartoons are educational and a very effective way for programming and brainwashing the masses and everyone in the business then and now are playing meta games and scripts over what a child would percieve in the entertainment.
You never heard of product placement? There are also idea and meme placements and most are not their for the benefit of the viewer but the corporations who stand to profit from nudging minds a little bit in one direction or the other. And they cry foul if anti corporates do the same thing.
Now for idea and meme placements, how about looking at the Seinfeld show. Do you see any positive role models? Do you see anyone that you would dare hang out with? Do you see any positive or worthwhile behaviors being exhibited? The last episode nailed it.
Yeah, it is just a comedy show. Monkey see, Monkey do.
Yeah, this movie is going to be great for kids.
Not that there is anything wrong with it.
Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Coyote and Road Runner had stories, made sense, had lessons and could be described as parables. I'm am sure that Rataouille is a superior product but a story about a rat that wants to become a great chef doesn't interest me and the knives getting thrown at him that is in the ad is just too much of a cliche and makes me think of Aerial and her Lobster pal. The Iron Robot on the otherhand was brilliant, had a story, ethic and moral. Also no one broke out in a song a dance routine designed for re-creation at a theme park or on ice.
I really love CGI, I just hate what they have done with it storywise and intentwise.
"Coal Black and De Sebben Dwarfs" - I've seen it, it is brilliant and it is not hateful in the slightest. It is racial humor but I hardly think that it is evil in intent. What kind of music do most early cartoons use? What do you think "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" is really about? Think late 1930s, the dip is Hearst and Doom is DuPont.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]The Democratic Party is just too damn close to the Republican Party and Dennis Kucinich has many of the core values which the others have forgotten about. Do people really want things to keep on going the way they are with a "Democrat" in charge or would they prefer to have a real Democrat in charge?
But really, how could any of the candidates of either party be any where near half as bad as Bush?
Voting for Bush was crazy. Voting for a war candidate in 2008 will also be crazy. There are only two candidates you can count on for being anti-war and the media has written both of them off.
Why?
It's crazy.

Eat a wide variety of beans and some occasional turkey and salmon to replenish your serotonin.
The pills are not very nice.
Get yourself some wholesome obsessions and good friends. Positve stimulation is what most people need and don't get enough of.

Pepsi and Coke are losing market share to Starbucks because they no longer use sugar. Sugar is energy and fuel, fructose isn't. Fructose is converted to fat.
At a coffee shop you can put real sugar into your beverage. Try that with a Coke or Pepsi.
