  • It could have been far worse.

[Read the article: Teen forcibly shaved, pierced for being "out of control"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

If the mother had money or insurance she could have had the child put into a psych hospital or rehab program. Given a choice, most teenagers and adults would prefer the shaving and piercing to imprisonment and forced drugging.

  • Retired Military Patriot

[Read the article: The case of the angry colonel]

I hope your efforts produce results but I am certain that if Admiral Fallon could correct the problem he would have already done so.

    Gotta respect the Admiral:

"Fallon told Petraeus [in March] that he considered him to be “an ass-kissing little chickensh*t” and added, “I hate people like that”"

Sadly politics and sycophancy trump duty, honor and integrity.

  • Submission to corrupt authority

[Read the article: The sad decline of Michael Mukasey]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Submission to corrupt authority is what those who have no integrity, honor, shame or conscience want and that is what they will submit as qualified candidates for the position.

The next time, perhpas they will pick a better liar who will be approved and do exactly what they desire of him, give them free license to do as they have been doing.

No one will hold these people accountable, that is how low the nation has sunk.

  • Monsterisation of America

[Read the article: Here's what waterboarding looks like]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Torture was not acceptable in America prior to Bush and Jack Bauer. It didn't take long or much to turn people into monsters, did it? That which we loathe and despise in our enemies our "operatives" practice with relish and delightful savagery.

Most Nazis and German citizens said they didn't know what was going on in Germany during World War II. Americans cannot say that about this. What the hell is wrong with people?

Once you cross certain lines, you cease to be human. If you can tolerate torture, you are way over that line.

  • Government troll

[Read the article: Are you part of Ron Paul's botnet?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

That's pretty funny. I have been accused of having a hundred computers at my disposal for the purpose of slagging mysslef, impersonating myself and genereally being a nuisance by my own personal government troll who works at the S.A.I.D who was doing exactly what he was accusing me of.

    Alex, how's business?

    "heh heh heh"

Robot computers doing the bidding of antiwar folks?

    HA HA HA HA HA.

  • Correction

That was the U.S.A.I.D., down near DuPont Circle.

  • Lizard Folk

[Read the article: Boys against girl?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

So she's the top lizard and the other lizards are chiding her for being an evasive, cunning, lying, predatory, political lizard?

    Well I am aghast!

Let's make fun of the only mammal on the panel who saw a UFO.

That makes everthing much better, doesn't it?

    HISSSSSSSSS.

  • Lizard Folk

[Read the article: "Boys against girl," Part II]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

It takes an expert to determine the sex of a lizard.

I shall await the opinion of a herpetoligist before I pass judgement on any of the candidates other than the human male with the splendid mate, ideals, character, morals and ethics.

I for one do not care for knowing the sex of a lizard and have no interest in what lies in the confines of the cloaca of any of the lizard folk as that is their concern and not mine and their concerns are not those of mammals such as myself and that human with the pointy ears, splendid mate, ideals, character, morals and ethics.

Any lizard can put on a dress, just look at Guiliani.

[Read the article: The "real" fake Col. Steven Boylan's e-mail]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

He used to use the tag "southside sammy" elsewhere.

Don't get him on your case, he tends to get obsessive and stalky.

    Right, Alex?

    UH OH!

Posting as you is one of his favorite tactics and then he will blame it on you.

Don't mess with psychopaths unless you are ready for some deep you know what.

    Right Alex?

[Read the article: Women at work and other stylistic concerns]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Women are more likely to read those sections than the other ones. They are just trying to be practical and reach the intended audience.

A lot of people do not read the front page of any national paper since it is just propaganda anyway or generic items from a news service which they can get word for word on the web or any other newspaper. People buy it for what they are interested in and aside from "news" and politics, that means sports, style, food, fashion, business, entertainment and the comics.

Now if they put it in the business section, how many women would read it? how many men would read it?
