At a certain point you realize that someone is just trying to scare the bejesus out of you and then you have to ask, why?

These "diseases" were invented when the bottom fell out of the diet pill market because people wised up. Children require attention, they run around, get into things hand have to be taught and sometimes they have to learn by getting into the wrong things and doing the wrong things.

Ever have puppies or kittens? They are hyperactive too. It is how nature builds strong bodies and minds. Do you take your child to the playground? Do you let them run around and play? Do you give them attention that they need and want? Do you respect the fact that they are individuals and not something which is supposed to act and behave in a manner to suit you?

A diagnosis and pills are not the answer.

You house is cramped and you are frustrated and overwhelmed by being a parent. You have the problem, not your child.

Real hyperactivity is extremely rare. Doctors who want to push drugs are real common.

What is more likely, that you have defective genetic screw up with your child or that you have some bad medical advice? Maybe the doctor was more interested in giving you what you want rather than the interests of the child.

Has the doctor offered you drugs too? Those things don't help people cope, they help people ignore and escape.

Assuming that your child is hyper, changing diet, checking for allergies, and learning some simple behavior modification will solve the problem in most cases.

Maybe you want you kid to grow up taking pills and have a medical diagnosis that will follow them throughout their life impacting their potential and mental health.

If speed for kids is bad, why is meth for adults so bad? Yes, I know the bogus explanation for their "therapeutic" effect but they are giving them to adults now as well. Oh yes, it has a different effect on children and now, presto chango abracadabra, it has the same effect on adults?

Come on. At least a crack dealer won't tell you that it is medicine. Even a meth dealer wouldn't do that.

Now for all the ADDers who will testify as to the need for these wonderful amphetamines which saved their life and put them on track. Cocaine users think that cocaine is good for them too. Meth users too, until they crash.

You know that schools get extra money for each child they manage to label as defective. Doctors get a regular customer as well.

If your child is in the .01 percent who are screwed up, my sincere apologies, otherwise, grow up, you have a child and you need to be a parent, not the pill dispenser.

BTW - watch the Exorcist movie again and note what happens after they give the child some thorazine. Speed is agateway drug for children. Antidepressants and Antipsychotics may be in the future.

The idea of spending anytime whatsoever watching Matt Lauer rooting around in somone's underpants trying to out them or expose their private parts is not news and is not entertainment unless it is done by Larry Flynt.

Leave the nether regions to professionals Mr. Lauer and start pretending that you are Katie Couric. Start looking for another network because if they gave you this assignment they think that you are the type of guy that SHOULD be rooting around other people's underwear looking for dirt.

Maybe you can handle the guests that the "professionals" at Nightline prefer to foist off to an underling.

Also, next time you have the chance (fat chance) ask Kerry and Bush about that night in the coffin together and the unspeakable rituals they performed. Enquiring minds want to KNOW.
