  • Father or Homeland Security?

[Read the article: Salon Radio: ACLU on the U.S. Army's domestic deployment]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

A mere decade after the USSR imploded, the USSA rises from the ashes.

I'm afraid because so few seem to notice, care, or question this.

  • Online News

[Read the article: Christian Science Monitor moves almost entirely online]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I read papers from all around the world via the miracle of the internet. This is something that means very much to me. I enjoy sticking my nose in everyones business no matter how far away.

But best of all....none of my precious trees were cut down to supply the paper that traditional media required.

  • The Echo of Decades

[Read the article: "My Lord, I feel something is happening"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I think the speeches of Barach Obama may turn out to be as important in future decades as the words of JFL and MLK are today.

"Ask what you can do for your country" and "judged by the content of his character" have been answered by this remarkable young man in one fell swoop.

My only sadness is that his grandmother did not live to see the conclusion of a story that she probably never dreamed would hit so close to home.

  • All That Money....

[Read the article: California same-sex marriage ban too close to call]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Why have the good X-tians poured all those millions into this proposition? By pushing the importance of meddling in others bedrooms they missed the point.

Wasn't it Christ who taught love one another, turn the other cheek, do unto others, love your enemy, judge lest not ye be judged, and lots of other useful advice?

Imagine how many coats, shoes, utility bills, eyeglasses and meals this amount could have provided for those in need.

Christianity should stay out of politics and focus on good works. It just does not seem to be possible to mix the two ideas and do anything worthwhile.

The losers are the needy, and THAT should wake up the believers.

  • Diversity

[Read the article: "Girls just wanna have guns"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    Only for politicians.

Not for gays, religions, hunters, or those who choose the color of their car. Very interesting.........

  • WWJD?

[Read the article: The bad economics of stopping gay marriage]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Imagine a country where x-tians send $29.7 mil. to the Salvation Army so they can spread the word using food, housing, medical care and just good old fashioned concern for others.

But I probably won't live that long.

  • I Must Ask....

[Read the article: Preliminary facts and thoughts about Eric Holder]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

What was Holder up to during "Ruby Ridge" and "Branch Davidian" raid? Neither were shining moments in democracy.

I'm not trying to start a fight....just curious.

  • Personal Responsibility

[Read the article: 20/20: Ashley Dupre, the girl next door]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Dupre's father and brother have nothing to do with HER carrier choice.

Nor did she "bring down" Spitzer. HIS choices did that.

The whole thing is just people making excuses for what is their Personal Responsibility. And the media thinking there is a substantial story in this.

The interview I would like to see is the one after some public figure gets his block knocked off by the wronged spouse. Why these broads put on a brave face and suck it up is beyond me. Pound the slimeball into the ground. Don't waste the rights women gained in the last century by staying dependent for the image of ??????

  • Where Are The Christians?

[Read the article: Why churches fear gay marriage]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

"Old Testamentology" (as I call it) has obliterated the teachings of Christ. One obscure sentence in the OT is more quoted than the Sermon on the Mount. Sad and scary.

The churches raised almost $30 mil to fight Prop.8. Imagine what the Salvation Army could have done with this amount of money. And the SA helps anyone in the name of Christ.

Focus on the Family is so pleased with their victory but they now must lay off many in these economic times. How proud the leaders must be. Imagine the blessings at empty tables. WWJD?

With the will of God behind unjust wars, denying freedom of choice and used as the battle cry behind endless condemnation of everything, perhaps it is time to admit that in America...Christianity appears to be dead.

  • Rembember The Poster?

[Read the article: Why Obama should end the "war on terror"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Fighting for peace is like screwing for virginity.

  • How About This

[Read the article: Detroit isn't dead yet]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

If it would save the not-so Big 3 if the US had 100% health coverage......who will take over that expense to keep the US alive?

  • Imagine That...

[Read the article: She was an icon of the Great Depression]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

    They were ashamed.

The rest of us have prayed, burned candles, said a chant and done numerous things in hope that the beautiful woman and her children were OK.

Thank you for the update on one of the most haunting, touching images ever taken.

    Mama....RIP...you did good.

  • A "Christian" Country?

[Read the article: Senate report links Bush to detainee homicides; media yawns]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

So many in America call those who worship differently barbarians. It is such a shame that no one holds the "man in the mirror" accountable.

But we should not worry. By turning our backs while our representatives are treating others inhumanely, can't we just say we are "turning the other cheek"? Won't that prove our immoral superiority to those we are trying to convert?

  • This Is News?

[Read the article: The Internet: Better than sex?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

My husband will spend 18 hours a day on the computer and hasn't put out sex for 4.5 years.

He's getting divorce papers for X-mas. I'm throwing a newly single party for New Years.

  • Skip The Preaching

[Read the article: Salon Radio: Pam Spaulding on Rick Warren]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Is it really necessary to have every event "blessed"? And by a such a divisive speaker, no less. Warren has no real idea of the inclusive teachings of Christ. His brand of religion is poisonous and no longer necessary in a world full of change.

Obama, you are smarter than this. (Or so I thought.)

  • Um...

[Read the article: WTF of the day: "Artificial Virginity Hymen"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

When are women going to be entitled to a pure man....and how will it be proved?

  • Faux News

[Read the article: BFFs no longer? Fox sues Bush Administration]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

My sides hurt, and I can't stop the tears of laughter.

  • The Death Of America

[Read the article: Another brutal year for liberty]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Out of the ashes of the USSR we watch the rise of the USSA.

Keep writing Glenn. Maybe some will read your posts and be motivated to contact their elected representatives.

Or, you will be one of those arrested as the state rounds up it's enemies.

  • Faux News

[Read the article: Obama re-takes oath of office]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Please let the no-brainers know that the conspiracy has been laid to rest.

Can the real leaders get back to doing real work in the real world now?

  • Who Cares?

[Read the article: Let's beat up on the Oscars]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The Oscars are a Hollywood self promotion game played every year to stroke the egos of those involved.

Skip the hype and donate the vast amount of wasted money to charity. I double dog dare you.....
