A simple series of questions for Alito should have gone like this"
Is there any group of Americans not protected by the Constitution?
Are homosexuals protected by the constituion?
Is marriage part of life, liberty and the persuit of happiness?
Can homos marry?
Surely a contradiction would have arisen in there somewhere. Yet our "esteemed" congress people are too worried about polls to ask real questions, to demand real answers (Yes or no, Sammy Boy, that's all I want).
Do Dems care about America or just themselves?
What would a valid misreading be, the same doublespeak crap the administration feeds us daily. Oy!
The press so eagerly repeats the Republican mantra that the Democratic actions "embolden" the enemy, yet simple obervation reveals increased violence every time Bush or the evil dick, Cheney, profess success or victory or even advancement are just around the corner. And all seems to stem from Bush's "Bring 'em on" challenge years ago. Thanks, Mr. Blumenthal for the thoughtful connection--now how do we get this reported on ABC?
Good lord. It's frightening to think that any of these "men" could be president when they stand behind nothing but irrational fear and hate mongering on the gay issue. Somebody please, please tell me: how exactly is gay marriage going to end the world as we know it...or have an effect on any straight couples marriage? As for the bible being clear on saying homosexual acts are immoral? The word didn't appear in a bible until the 1940s and didn't exist until the 1880s. And if you read about Lot and Sodom and Gemorrah, you'll find that Lot's daughters got him drunk and screwed him, and both had their father's offspring--their sons who were also their brothers. Yet God had no problem with that. Yeah. The bible's clear.
Idiots.
The first fires were in Malibu, so obviously Ann Coulter, who has said, basically, that she'd like to see all those Hollywood libs fall into the Pacific, got out her Bic and torched some tumbleweed. Wet with joy, she then continued her destructive path on a quest to rid the US of California and all its evil progressive ways. Isn't she called a conservative firebrand?
Hmm...something to think about
Yo! "Till" is a verb (till the ground) or a noun (put the money in the till). It is not a preopostion. That word is "until," or its abreviation "'til."
God save the English language.
It's good. An it can be effective. But I don't think it's the best, either. In fact, the similarly themed video with the guy with the bumper sticker is better. Wonder what the judges were thinking...
CWA says the founders of our country never could have imagined gay marriage and therefore it shouldn't be allow.
I'm betting the founders also couldn't have imagined automatic assault rifles and armor piercing bullets.
Should those then be outlawed too?
I'm waiting for a logical argument against this. And I'll be waiting a long long time.
So what is the message here? Because the world and media loves this guy, you should vote the one they don't? Better a leader the world hates than admires?
I'm glad the Barack's tour of Europe is equated to the Stones. As a frequent traveler, I'll be happy not to explain to everyone one I meet that no, I don't like Bush either and then try explain how he got voted in twice.
I long to hear -- "Hey, that president of yours. He's all right!"
My brother, a died-in-the wool, true blue (red?)Republican recently told me there's no way he'll vote for the "doddering old fool" McCain and that McCain is "the worst campaigner [he's] ever seen." While he didn't throw is support behind Obama, he did say he'd sooner not vote at all than vote the "senile" Republican candidate.
That's good news, isn't it.
...May I change "died-in-the-wool" to "dyed" and add a question mark at the end? Sorry.
We watched the speech with a 22 year old friend who is visiting us from Germany and who hadn't seen Michelle before. All three of us were in goosebumps afterwards (okay, I had a few tears), and our friend--remember he'd never seen Michelle before--commented on how real she seemed, how much he felt he now knows who she is, and what a powerful speech it was.
No only did Michelle introduce herself to the country, she was able to reach out to the world.
She rocks!
Who the hell names their kids Trig and Bristol? That decision alone should be enough to disqualify Palin.
I heard the first part on the radio and, while screaming at her lies, I thought, damn, she's good.
I saw the second part on TV, which, thankfully, most Americans will have seen. There she came across as insincere, nasty, bitter...everything everyone else said. When she ran through the list of foreign countries, it was obvious was she had no idea what she was talking about. I hope the nastiness doesn't work, but we as a people aren't all that smart.
And isn't it true she supported the bridge to nowhere before she didn't?
Oh, and I think I counted 3 black people in the crowd among all the big, big platinum blonde hair...
I'm so sick of hearing about this "liberal media" from the right. In this Sunday's San Diego Union-Tribune, one writer actually suggested that the "smearing" we saw of Palin by the LWM would never happen to the Clintons or the Kennedys.
Uh what?
So what do we do to inform the delusional of the truth? The problem is, unless Rush or O'Reilly report it, no matter what the facts, the right will only pass it off as the media telling lies about itself.
How was the right so successful in defining the media--and academia--as left wing, to the point that nothing true will ever be accepted by the dittoheads becuase it didn't come from FOX?
