I run a race to see who has the most guts." [Steve Prefontaine]

the idea that you (america) will be responsible for the cost of an overweight americans quadrouple bypass implies that mr obama supports socialized medicine. universal healthcare can be accomplished in many different ways; i have never heard any of its proponents recommend a model that is based on socialism.
the sad reality is that right now you are paying for exactly that through title VIII social security act which funds state medicaid programs and of course through higher medical costs put in place to absorb the cost of care of the uninsured.
