Damn straight! You said it well.
I have asked a few Hillary-bashers (who claim to be progressives and liberals) to please tell me EXACTLY what it is that they object to about her.
Without exception, they sputter and stutter and finally spit out "she's so polarizing."
I ask them if they are familiar with her voting record in the Senate when they call her Republican-lite.
Without exception, they say she "always votes with the Republicans."
Some people just love to hate, so they can feel superior.
clarification.
I have no idea if Chris Matthews has clout any more. I think he was able to influence some malleable viewers when he was on his Gore-bashing vendetta, knowingly repeating falsehoods about Big Al ad nauseum, screaming at the top of his lungs like a madman, lying, lying, lying. And his viewers ate it up and repeated the lies, too. And we got George Bush, with Matthews' aiding and abetting.
He spends 95% of his time bashing Democratic frontrunners -- this time around, of course, it's Hillary -- because that's the only way he can get attention. Matthews, IMO, is running scared against Olbermann, so he will continue to bash Hillary in hopes of maintaining his role on TeeVee as the Democratic Party basher-in-chief. (He's not really an Obama support -- he just thinks that Obama is so BEATABLE in the national election.)
If Hillary wins the nomination, then the presidency, Matthews could become irrelevant. He's like a cornered animal, unpredictable, but willing to "kill" for his own survival. No wonder he's on his hate-Hillary rants. He's afraid of her.
I'm throwing my hat in the ring with Hattie!
Spot-on, Hattie!
with her strongest showing among unsophisticated, less educated Democratic voters,
Oh? And, pray tell, out of which hole did you pull this "fact?"
McCain will ask Joe Lieberman to join the Repub ticket?
Oh, boy. More fodder for endless yakking about nothing that is not going to happen!
"You may not agree with Joe Lieberman on every issue, but you can always count on him to be dishonest with you about where he stands."
that was written by Karl Rove.
Repeat a lie often enough and it becomes FACT to the manipulated.
Bring on the repetition! Lies 'R Us!
"The New York Times' inference that there is an effort to mislead in this matter is pernicious and troubling, and we are formally requesting that NYT correct the sub-headline of this story."
Well, that takes care of that!
In what was a woefully under-reported story, Senator Whitehouse explained how the Office of Legal Counsel has carefully constructed a framework of legal opinion that justifies Anything that the President does as Legal, just because the President says so under his Article II powers. He is not bound under any mere Congressionally-passed laws, nor previous Executive Orders, because he can just issue new ones or ignore ones already in place.
I know supposedly "it can't happen here" but when I read comments such as kevornj's, I wonder what the possibilities are that this gang in the WH will use Article II powers to maintain their power.
BTW, I am not a conspiracy nut.

Apparently, Huckabee's ad producer claims the cross was a built-in bookcase. But, a Huckster campaign official said the cross was part of a window frame.
WTF don't they get their stories straight at least?
Actually, when I view the commercial, it looks like the Huckster is sitting in front of a paned-window -- but, ya better believe that it wasn't "by chance" that the cross-effect is very prominent.
Back in April, 2000, when Giuliani was running for the U.S. Senate he was diagnossed with early-stage prostate cancer. But, it wasn't until May 20, 2000 that he announced he was dropping out of the senate race.
Why did he wait a month to drop out? Well, the reality is it was because his marital affairs were becoming a big "electoral" problem. Giuliani downplayed speculation that his decision was influenced by his announcement that he would leave his wife of 16 years, amid reports romantically linking him with other women. He claimed he wanted to focus on his health.
Fast forward to December, 2007 -- Rudy checks into a hospital for "flu-like" symptoms. Rudy's Bernard Kerik problems (and others) are becoming the focus of media and voters' attention. His poll numbers are sliding, rapidly.
America's Mayor will be dropping out of the presidential race soon. To focus on his health.
He's finding out he needs more than a verb, a noun, and 9/11.
It will be said many times that if Obama becomes president voting "present" will not be an option.
Because Obama, as an Illinois legislator, picked the "present" option rather than a definitive "Yea" or "Nay" vote, it is right and fair that his record be put under the microscope. Americans deserve an explanation as to why he chose to vote "present" on important pieces of legislation on some 130 occasions.
Barack's rhetoric may be heart-warming and even moving, but it is his record that better defines his character.
Well, when is someone going to ask that all important question of Mitt Romney about religious differences -- do you wear that Mormon-mandated underwear?
Why should Al Gore endorse Obama? That makes little sense.
Gore's signature issue is the the climate crisis and the environment, probably Obama's weakest areas compared to Edwards, Dodd, and Richardson. (Check it out at Grist and the League of Conservation Voters.)
Well, bucko, she has said quite a bit. There's this (check link below) and more if you take the time to check it out.

For what it's worth, I read it exactly as Joan Walsh intended. It was perfectly clear to me.
