Stunned

I am stunned. I had no idea that our law enforcement officers had Humvees, marched in formation and used military chants.

I also would like to know a lot more about this "conspiracy to riot" charge, and what is required for it to be used so casually.

It's clear to me from watching the news over the last day or so, that the anarchist group was widely reported on, with emphasis on the materials found and on their plans, so that going forward, other people who were simply exercising free speech rights peacefully, could be lumped into the same category, and so that the public would not protest about it. That was the carefully executed media strategy, IMHO. And of course the intimidation strategy with raids, arrests and shows of force is pretty obvious.

But they took this thing so far. Is this really worth it to them? Is it a test to see how far they can go? Is it practice for some future event(s)?

As I said, I'm stunned. And I don't become stunned that easily. We need to do things to get this out into the news and the conversations with friends, neighbors and family. We also need to contact Congresspeople and Senators. Those are the first things that come to mind. Perhaps Glenn and Jane might weigh in with ideas about the best things for us to do.

Well done

Well done, Glenn and other bloggers who spoke out when it was needed, despite some nasty criticisms from others.

I wonder who else, from Obama's circle, stepped up and said "no way" to Brennan.
