A Republican will probably never get my vote which leaves the only 'reasonable' choice as voting for a Democrat. However, I can I pull the lever to vote for Clinton, Obama, or Edwards and not feel like I have blood on my hands?

I'm still trying to figure out why in the first place, we insist our leaders are great worshipers.

When the presidents office is suspected of breaking laws or risking our safety, it is the job of the congress to hold whoever needs to be held accountable. When the congress refuses to do their job - as is the case now - the responsability then falls down to the people. We are the people and as long as we don't do anything about it, nothing we change.

We have known Bush is corrupt and power hungry for over seven years now, we have known Republicans are unpatriotic for even longer, and by now we should know that the Democrats are not the saviors we once hoped they would be. So what now? It's our turn.

As long as the people in charge of us are torturing and murdering people in our name and the people we elect to make sure this doesn't happen are sitting by quietly watching, we are not free. We need to take this country back and really make it for the people.

The power is in our hands, but it means nothing until we acknowledge it. The same is true in reverse; the Bushs and Cheneys will continue to rule over us until we stop acknowledging their power to do so.

We wonder why mainstream media tends to not do their job; because when they do, they get threatened with jail time.

The people in power are not going to listen to us until we make their power dependent on it.

Listen to the government, it knows best. Come on, have the people in charge ever steered us in the wrong direction?

If you are surprised that the Republicrat Senate is passing this bill, you obviously haven't been paying attention for the past 200 plus years.

This is neither surprising nor is it confined to just the United States. What is the solution?

Much like a small child, these Democrats need to be held accountable when they do something wrong. We can see - in the person running our country - what happens when children are allowed to run around doing whatever they want with no consequences.

People like Bohner who say one thing one week and then the exact opposite the next, do it because they know they can. No major newspaper or channel will ever call him out on it and the majority of the minority who read it in forums like this will never do anything with the information.

What is wrong with our country when Nancy Pelosi is unable to say "yes, the President is saying things that he knows to be false, therefore he is lying."

While this doesn't accomplish 1/1,000,000th of what needs to happen for the US to be free, it's a step and I'm happy.

I turned it off when he said that the reason we attacked Iraq is because of Islamo-fascism.

I would not have known about this incident had I not read about it here. I understand that the mainstream media is covering bullshit, but that doesn't mean it has to be on here also.

We will not get out of Iraq nor will we prevent other Iraqs from happening until we start seeing "others" as human beings. Once that happens, we will not be able to be complacent as our government literally kills them en masse.

As long as we keep buying, they will keep printing. As long as we keep watching, they will keep broadcasting.

Why are we letting these people make decisions for us? Why don't we realize that the only reason they have power is because we give it to them? It's time to take it back!

Almost all people who do things like read Glenn Greenwald on a daily basis know a McCain presidency would be the equivalent to a third Bush term, but he will still win. The vast majority of people don't even read mainstream media - let alone blogs like this - on a regular basis.

We should be doing more than writing letters. Writing letters is a good first step, but when it is not resolved we should not just move on to the next thing.

Can't we just pretend these people don't exist, and start our own USA with our own rules and regulations?

The media is obviously around for one purpose- to make money. If they were to report the truth, their advertisers would begin to lose money and therefore not support them anymore. We can't blame capitalists for wanting to make money; even at the cost of the truth. I say the blame rests squarely on the shoulders of the people (myself included) who know what is happening, know they are being lied to, and do nothing about it. Instead of just reading Mr. Greenwald and then going about our day, we need to write letters, write our own blogs, boycott the mainstream media, and whatever else is in our power.
