So Libby lied under oath? So what? There was no underlying blowjob or sex tape involved so what harm could have come of it? What people don't understand is that these are SPECIAL people who operate under SPECIAL rules, which not only allow but require that they occasionally cross some minor lines. And they are great PATRIOTS, which makes their actions even more acceptable, in fact laudable. It is no crime if a great PATRIOT bends the kinds of rules that only apply to ordinary people in the name of defending the country.
If Bush doesn't pardon poor Libby, then surely the concept of justice will have ceased to have any meaning, which has already suffered greatly at the hands of politically motivated Democrats determined to bring down our great Attorney General for doing what Bill Clinton did. And as everyone knows, if Bill Clinton did it, then it's ok--except, of course, when it isn't. I'd explain that except none of you would understand. You're not, after all, one of the SPECIAL people.
And now please excuse me as I'm running late for my Stockholm Syndrome support group.
Heh, I see that you're new here. Relax, it was just snark. We do that here sometimes, as sometimes it's the only way to react to such absurdities as Klein's. Not everyone gets it right away, though, I guess. You do watch Colbert, I assume?
There's a reason that Cheney loves secrecy and obscurity--cowards always work best in the shadows, unmonitored and unchecked. Cheney is a political vampire--rarely seen, working furtively alone and in the dark, dishonest, malicious, mendacious, opportunistic, parasitic, narcissistic, self-preservationist, seeking only to survive and advance, at any and all costs. Shine a light on him, though, and he self-destructs.
I can only hope that he does end up on the stand. Not only in the Wilson's case, but in the senate, and perhaps a criminal courtroom, with Pat Fitzgerald doing the cross.
Apologies if this has already been posted here, and for redirecting from the preferred vendor Amazon, but for people on a tight budget, this book is available for a bit less from Buy.com, which is where I buy most of my books and which generally has better prices than Amazon and usually offers free shipping for orders over $25 (plus no sales tax, which is another plus for people who live in WA):

Has anyone from your publisher contacted Costco to see if they'll carry it? They tend to carry the latest bestsellers at discount and I'm guessing that a lot of Democrats, liberals, progressives and independants shop there, since it caters to that socioeconomic group.
Also, for locals on an especially tight budget, the Seattle Public Library system has it on order and as of last night has more copies on order than holds that have been placed on it.
Glenn--my apologies, but I'm just trying to help get this book into as many hands as possible. It's going to get a high Amazon ranking no matter what, as very few people are likely to read this comment and Amazon is still far better known than Buy.com.
Can't wait to read it!
For another, poor people can afford to shop there...The purchasing power they give the poor is no small thing
Um, why do you think they're poor in the first place? Has it occured to you that in at least some (and I'd venture to guess many) cases, it's because WalMart moved in to their communities, destroyed local businesses that paid better and offered health insurance and other benefits to their employees, and then rehired these people at rock-bottom wages?
Few people "choose" to be poor. Poverty is something that's usually foisted upon people through unfair economic practices that disproportionately favor those with power and money. So yeah, they're able to buy "cheaper" goods at WalMart, which they pretty much have to because they often also work for WalMart. It's the modern version of sharecropping.
So much for the "invisible hand of the market" protecting everyone equally.
