  • Getting ahead of yourself

[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

So I know it's in poor taste to call someone on their predictions after the game. But is it alright to speak up when the discussion has already jumped to the following week's game.

It's alright, the Colts were probably looking ahead too and couldn't believe how easy their path became when the Patriots blew it.

  • Catch-22

[Read the article: First Justice, now the FCC: No NSA investigation]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Can we at least get them for plagiarism? This sounds exactly like Joseph Heller.

  • What will it take to kill cycling?

[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Logic would say that these reports would do it. But logic doesn't seem to have much to do with fans. Boxing survived for decades longer than logic would dictate despite all that surrounded it.

  • Where does Bush stand?

[Read the article: Dead man walking]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I wish reporters would get Bush to clarify his statements. He mentions "human suffering" but doesn't elaborate about whether he is for or against it.

  • null set?

[Read the article: "A null set"]

How could Harry Reid be wrong about the war in Iraq since Romney proved there is no war and that all those casualties are purely hypothetical.

  • typo?

[Read the article: Pace out as chairman of Joint Chiefs]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Just to clarify, should it say "Pace said he believed that reconfirmation hearings for Pace would devolve into a "divisive ordeal" focused on the conduct of the Iraq war." or that Gates said that?

    Not a big deal though....

  • Some benefits remain

[Read the article: Hackers make the iPhone pay-as-you-go]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

In response to the first post, it sounds like this would be a great way to use the phone if you are often using your phone at wi-fi hotspots. Now all the hackers need to do is put skype on it and you would only need to use pay-as-you-go when you're not around wifi.

  • Wii math

[Read the article: We are playing Wii, and a little PS3]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Even at $499 you can buy two Wii's (with a whole dollar left over).

  • I agree that a good game doesn't change things

[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Because I would have had to know that it could be a good game before it started.

  • over - rated

[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Wait, so are you saying that you disagree with all chants or comments which..... lets say "question the quality of the opposing team"?

That's a very positive take on sports but isn't it fun to bash the other team? Do you really believe that a fan should only cheer for the team that he/she is supporting? Or should they yell "You guys are really good but that is only further proof that our team is even better!"

That's pretty catchy but not as gratifying as "DU sucks!"

  • eh

[Read the article: Kindle: Amazon's e-book reader is here]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

With the quote about the plane brought up another issue. Who wants to turn off their book for takeoff and landing?

  • text based information unreliable?

[Read the article: BlackBerry proof that Britney Spears is pregnant? Think again]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Should I trust that text I just read about not trusting text-based information?

You might wonder how sincere my question is but, since I was clever enough to put it in writing, you'll never be able to tell the tone of my voice.

  • Simple

[Read the article: On coffee and miscarriages]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

This is a simple issue. It's a matter of correlation but not necessarily causation.

  • Please elaborate on why it's not stealing

[Read the article: U2's crazy manager wants to go after tech firms]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Have you posted somewhere else why file sharing is not stealing (assuming you don't already own the music)? The only thing I have seen was your recent analogy to a candy shop, which also seemed pretty fleeting for such a strong argument.

  • hmmm

[Read the article: The telomere workout]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I appreciate that you mentioned caveats when a study includes self reporting but are you suggesting that people with longer Leukocyte telomeres will exaggerate their fitness levels?

  • Worldwide

[Read the article: Wii and PS3 projected to eclipse XBox 360]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I think the thing to keep in mind is that they are global numbers. Xbox360 will beat PS3 in America but Japan and Europe are probably where these guys think Sony will catch up.

The important thing is for them to keep putting out games....

  • Hmmm

[Read the article: Your handbag is hysterical!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I would never spend $4000 on anything that isn't house, car, or education but, that being said, I'm more bothered by paying money to the criminals through the guy on the corner....

  • I have my wife's name

[Read the article: The groom will be changing his name]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I did. We were married shortly after September 11th and I had to go through the legal process which involved paying for a background check. In the amount of time it took for that to occur (3 months or something, I forget), they changed the rules and had a new set of hoops to jump through. Luckily, I was moving and waited until the following year to do it in a different state where it wasn't as difficult.

  • A very smart playlist

[Read the article: A bookmark for the iPod]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Okay, here's my trick for listening to audiobooks that are ripped from cd. This issue is that you end up with a hundred or so tracks to keep track of. So here's what I do:

I import the tracks and select "remember position" and "skip when shuffling"

Then I create a smart playlist that needs to meet two pieces of criteria:

    1) The title or author's name so that it chooses all the files from the book (and only those files)

    2) Playcount must be zero.

This means that you don't have to remember what track you were on because it will always be the top track in your playlist.
