  • Hi Wes!

[Read the article: Burden on superdelegates gets even heavier]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Buckwheat, as you like to call him, still leads in delegates, the popular vote, and states won. You can marginalize anyone who doesn't vote for Clinton, but you can't change the facts. Hillary could win every state left 56%-44% and still Obama breaks the 2025 needed to win. Furthermore, NC is the last state with over 100 delegates. With any luck, we end this mess on May 6. Buckwheat 08!

  • WES the man with the predictions

[Read the article: Burden on superdelegates gets even heavier]

    that rarely come true.

  • Huh?

[Read the article: So, what's next?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

NC has like twice the delegates of Indiana. How can you argue that Indiana can seal it for Obama but not NC? Makes no sense whatsoever.

Lately, Mr. Benen, I read your posts and get the impression that you're writing to write. Just kinda talking out of your butt. If Obama gets 60% in NC, that'll be pretty huge, right?

Anyway, trying to wrap my head around Indiana, I get the feeling that it lines up closer to Ohio than Illinois politically. I am eager to see how it lands, even though I think NC is far more important for reasons that should be obvious by now.

  • Guns God and Gays for WES

Yep, she has to focus on those distractions that Obama keeps talking about. SAme old crap that makes people not want to vote at all. WES is all too eager to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

  • What the hell do you know about NC

You live in Raleigh. How can you be so myopic? Here in 27707, we're pretty excited about turning the state around.

  • I Wish

[Read the article: Tuesday's other important contest]

that we COULD break away from the Clinton Obama race, but let's be honest. Clinton has thumbed her nose at the whole IDEA of trying to win these seats in so called "red states". Had it not been for Dean sticking to his guns, the democrat would not have won the seat.

Clinton and her affinity for the status quo is exactly what this is about. Politics as usual versus change. I wish I could just appreciate this win on a superficial level and not consider the bigger picture. But as a proponent of a DNC that Clinton has tried to ignore, dispute, and circumvent, I consider this no small victory for my philosophy that every state is in play if we build it from the ground up.

  • Poor kovars

[Read the article: What Pennsylvania tells us]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

He's good at making claims: "What PA proves is that Obama can't win in November"

But where is the logic that ties it all together? Where is the argument? Just like his buddy WES, he just assumes that if he thinks it, he must be right. But it's just another example of a pathetic non-Democrat.

Those of us who can rightfully claim to be reasonable and well meaning understand that the numbers of people going to the polls to vote in this primary alone should be encouraging. I'm excited about november even if I do have to vote for the antichrist that is Klin-ton.

No matter how hard Hillary and her supporters try to suck the fun and exceitement out of political awareness/activism, most of us on the Obama side are just happy that we can hope again, and barring a coup from the Clintons, our man will be taking the oath un 9 months.

  • Mr. Kovars

We can't blame a loss in the general on Hillary unless she goes out and joins McCain on the campaign trail like she tried to do several months ago, endorsing McCain over Obama.

No, we'll be relying on folks like you to suck it up and do the right thing. If Obama loses the general, I'm sure it will be a variety of factors leading up to it.

See, that's the thing, we're for the most part reasonable. I know it frightens you...

  • Give it up, WES

your attempts to read the crystal ball are failing. You might as well be saying that the celtics have no chance to win the NBA championship.

Should not shy away from being the smarter candidate. Someone is going to have to bring our schools back out of the 50's.

  • Even that would surprise me

[Read the article: Clyburn hits Clintons on tactics]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Even as much as I loathe Clinton and her campaign, I do think she cares about what's happening in this country. I seriously doubt she would work to give us four years of McCain just to further her oen political aspirations.

  • People, it is what it is.

[Read the article: Whose fault is the Clinton-Obama stalemate?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Mr. Shapiro tripped out of the gate on this one.

Why do we assume there is "fault" to be assigned here? Just because a so-called "stalemate" exists, and I'm not conceding that premise, either, doesn't mean that it can not be a natural result of how the primary process works.

As much as I hate to say it, Hillary is not statistically eliminated from this race and won't be unless or until Obama hits the 2025 delegate mark. SO really, she can stay in as long as she wants.

So why look for fault, except to create a breeding ground for trolls and haters? We all know the timeline. The is no culprit here. This is what it is.

  • Don't feed the trolls

uh, may wanna check the mirror there, shawny. I mean, I don't own a rabidity gauge or anything, but somehow the froth from the corners of your mouth came right through my monitor.

  • Joan Walsh = obtuse

[Read the article: Why Jeremiah Wright is so wrong]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Maybe I'm wrong because I could barely get through the first paragraph, let alone the whole column, but I didn't see much mention of Jeremiah Wright's impressive military service, and how someone who has given and seen so much can maybe be entitled to some anger. Nah, Joan Walsh cares not for context or objectivity. Joan Walsh is just another meathead with a hatchet to grind. Shocking, I tell you, shocking.
