Your faux-outrage over SLSpencer's responses are pathetic. From where I'm sitting, he is not being unreasonable in dismissing, point for point, your shrill Fox-Newsesque hyperbole.

You last post was not only childish, but absurd. Of course, it's what we'd expect from someone who is able to draw Hitler analogies to the current Democratic nominee with so much as batting an eye.

SLSpencer's only mistake was to address you as if you were an adult.

  • Male with a liberal arts degree here

Yes, my classes were predominantly female (not a complaint :) ).

I felt like I got a really broad education that challenged my preconceived notions and taught me to look at things from as many angles as possible. I am definitely a better person for having studied what I did, no matter how "worthless" my degree may be.

That said, I earned minimum wage at a hardware store's loading dock for over a year after I graduated. I eventually moved on to a soul-crushing sales job. Long story short, through the course of my work a few people noticed that I could write OK, compliments of my liberal arts education. Now I'm getting paid to blog from home on a topic I feel very strongly about (environmental issues). While far from being rich, I do make enough to classify as "middle-class" for whatever that's worth.

So yeah, liberal arts students may not be as marketable right out of school as the engineering kids, but that's not to say we can't make a good living from what we learned in school if we stick to our guns. It just may take a few years of paying the dues (i.e. a few years of utter misery until you find your break).

Take heart, fellow liberal arts grads! What we learned is of value, it just takes a little imagination (something I believe we have in spades)!

  • LW: It's over, your girlfriend just doesn't have the nuts to tell you.

[Read the article: How can I convince my girlfriend that this is as good as it gets?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

She doesn't want to be "that girl." You know, the mean girl who dumped her "nice" boyfriend. The one guys get together and talk about over beers at the pub as they shake their heads and nurse their bitter, old hearts.

To be fair, she probably was never really as into you as she felt she should have been. Not your fault, LW. Just as men have been browbeaten by the popular media to be that nice, self-depricating guy who always gets the girl at the end of all the teen movies you grew up on, women have been indoctrinated to believe they really want that guy. All their favorite movies and TV shows have been telling them this for ages. You know, the whole "Rachel and Ross" thing. The "Jennifer Jason Leigh and that other nice boy that works at the movie theater across the mall" thing.

So really, it's not their fault either. We've been brainwashed.

The reality is that women, especially young ones, are biologically inclined to be attracted to assholes.

    Lesson learned.

Now go out there and be that asshole. Good luck!

p.s. While your at it, make it easier on your lady and dump her. She's trying to leave you, she doesn't know how to.

  • On courting these (supposed) legions of ex-HRC supporters

While I've always doubted the validity of this "story," I will assume it's true and address them:

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

That you'd try to make some kind of statement about sexism by voting for John "My Wife's a Painted Trollop and a Cunt" McCain says more about you than gender relations in this country.

Namely, that you're much too stupid to be a Democrat. Don't worry. You're amongst your own now. Hope you enjoy clotheshanger abortions and the company of Republican Stepford wives. Why don't you go ahead and enlist while you're at it? They'll be needing you with the 100 year war you voted for.

Good bye. Good riddance. You will not be missed.

  • Good god. Can we stop arguing about which gender is the biggest victim here?

[Read the article: Pink-collar ghetto, here we come!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

This race to victimhood is discusting, and it represents much of what is wrong with this country today.

You want to be treated like shit and given no respect by your peers? By all means, keep wearing that cross and crown of thorns then. Whatever you do, for God's sake, don't re-evaluate the role you've played in becoming what you are.

We all become who we pretend to be, as Vonnegut once wrote. I don't know (or care) what you've gone through in life. Some pretty shitty things, I imagine. So what? Life sucks. Get a helmet. Get mad. Take control of the things you can, and take the rest as a lesson in life.

You will cease to be a victim the minute you decide you aren't one. It's really that simple.

  • You fake ex-Democrats are cracking me up

[Read the article: Obama hires HRC women's outreach director]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

And, surprise surprise, you've all still failed to give any real evidence beyond your pathetic whining that Obama is a sexist.

Keep trying. It's a real laugh. Your tears, they taste so sweet.

The only thing about this that surprises me about this is the amount of faux outrage on these pages. All from the usual suspects, I see.

Personally, I filed this story under "who gives a shit," but apparently this is HUGE NEWS for all the trolls.

  • This article would have meant a lot more coming from someone else

Yeah yeah yeah. We all know how "concerned" Joan Walsh is.

  • Finally got around to seeing the raw footage

[Read the article: There's no rape in Williamsburg]

Egads. Don't really know what else to say here. Unbelievable. Just unbelievable. What a train wreck.

Was it a failed attempt at some sort of humor, or are they really that ignorant?

BTW, living in Williamsburg is nothing to be proud of. I spent some time there, and all I saw were a bunch of hipster douchebags who spoke as if they were brilliant artists, but created nothing.

  • Translation: Americans are too stupid for subtle satire.

[Read the article: The Obama cover kerfuffle]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

We must be beaten repeatedly over the head with bumper-sticker slogans and simplistic WWII analogies until we "get it," and even then we are incapable of grasping the complete picture, which is always more nuanced.

You know, it's much easier for you to just talk to yourself in the mirror instead of spending all this time typing.

And it accomplishes the same thing.
