  • Where's our Drudge?

If the right wants to play this way, we need to stop playing defensice top their ridiculous attacks and launch a few of our own.

Where our Drudge? Someone with enough journalistic cowardice to print what they know to be lies. It's time we got as dirty as they are because relying so heavily on pesky facts and logic apparently doesn't win you any elections.

Hell, it took Terri Schiavo and a page-piddling to get us back the House and Senate. Why must we wait for them to lose elections themselves?

  • Oh look. Another "anonymous" attack on Obama.

    What a surpise.

I doubt this will get reported in the War Room, as Koppelman seems to have a decidely pro-Clinton bent, but...

    CLINTON STAFFERS CIRCULATE 'DRESSED' OBAMA

    Mon Feb 25 2008 06:51:00 ET

With a week to go until the Texas and Ohio primaries, stressed Clinton staffers circulated a photo over the weekend of a "dressed" Barack Obama.

The photo, taken in 2006, shows the Democrat frontrunner fitted as a Somali Elder, during his visit to Wajir, a rural area in northeastern Kenya.

The senator was on a five-country tour of Africa.

"Wouldn't we be seeing this on the cover of every magazine if it were HRC?" questioned one campaign staffer, in an email obtained by the DRUDGE REPORT.

In December, the campaign asked one of its volunteer county coordinators in Iowa to step down after the person forwarded an e-mail falsely stating that Barack Obama is a Muslim.

Obama campaign manager David Plouffe quickly accused the Clinton campaign Monday of 'shameful offensive fear-mongering' for circulating the snap.

Clinton campaign manager Maggie Williams responds: "If Barack Obama's campaign wants to suggest that a photo of him wearing traditional Somali clothing is divisive, they should be ashamed."

  • Typical Clinton garbage

This primary election will be viewed by history as a resounding rejection of the old ways of doing politics (represented by the Clintons) and an endorsement of the new (Obama). The Clintons were perfect for their time, but they haven't changed with the times, and people have gotten wary of their cynicism and shrill (yes, I said it) scorched-Earth strategies.

  • Hillary should run as an independent!

Anyone who thinks otherwise or votes for anyone else is SEXIST!

  • Voting for McCain

Never underestimate the Democratic party's capacity for eating itself and loosing elections.

    What a joke.

You want to vote for McCain because of sour grapes, johncp? Go ahead. If you haven't noticed that the dirt has flown both ways, the stupid one is you.

  • Clinton has the gall to accuse Obama of "Rovian" tactics?

[Read the article: Newest Clinton ad plays on security fears]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

And then she releases this fear-mongering campaign ad straight from his playbook?

Dear God! Who will protect those poor sleeping white babies?!

  • Wow. I just have to laugh at this latest tactic from the Clinton campaign.

    Anybody else smell the desperation?

    Smells like...victory.

  • I've stopped shaking my head, and now all I can do is laugh

Really, if Clinton wants to save some of the political capital her husband built for her, she needs to concede to Obama and bow out now. She can give a gracious speech about how she was caught by surprise by Obama's momentum and capacity to cring the nation behind him, say she's learned a lot from the experience, and encourage her supporters to throw their support behind him as she is. As a result of doing this, she will win back our graces, and will come out ahead for any future aspirations she may have.

This tight election has been exciting, but it's hard to see how it's tone now won't damage the party in the long run.

  • By the way, BRAVO to Salon for removing the anonymouse option

It is odd that there aren't so many pro-Clinton trolls now (besides WES of course, but at least he uses a handle).

  • Hillary's alleged new strategy for winning in Texas? Have her supporters show up to the caucuses early and take control of the sign-in sheets, locking out the more numerous Obama's voters

    From the Dallas Morning News:

Hillary Clinton and her campaign is pushing for precinct captains for Texas' 8,000 Democratic polling places. They need to train folks to lead the caucus sessions that will determine more than 60 delegates after the primary voting is over.

In training materials being handed out by the Clinton campaign, it is clear that they want to control those caucus sessions.

The materials say in part, "DO NOT allow the supporter of another candidate to serve in leadership roles."

It goes on to say, "If our supporters are outnumbered, ask the Temporary Chair if one of our supporters can serves as the Secretary, in the interest of fairness.

"The control of the sign-in sheets and the announcement of the delegates allotted to each candidate are the critical functions of the Chair and Secretary. This is why it is so important that Hillary supporters hold these positions."
