As long as the issue is in the spotlight...
[Read the article: Obama campaign: Clinton should renounce remarks]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Can we talk about the real issue now?
Can we talk about what a sad waste the "War on Drugs" has been? Can we get a high-level discussion going about non-violent kids getting thrown into prison with career criminals, and walking out with no job prospects because of their incarceration and a bunch of underworld contacts? Can we talk about how racist our drugs laws are and how young minority men are being deligated to life of addiction and desperation because of our systems rush to throw them into the joint? Can we talk about the prison-industrial complex? Can we talk about a health issue being treated like a criminal issue, and the negative consequences that come from failing to make this distinction?
Anyone? Hello?
*crickets chirp*
Gotcha. Then on with the passive-aggressive attacks and Rovian disinformation campaigns. And God forbid anyone call the Clinton's on their bullshit, lest you risk getting branded as a sexist.
ENOUGH.

Relax, Fred.
[Read the article: All that glitters is gold]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It was clearly an attempt at humor. Lighten up. Sheesh.
(Wasn't me, BTW).

The Clinton campaign responds...
[Read the article: Obama campaign: Clinton should renounce remarks]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"We won't mention again that Obama used to do cocaine. Obama's past cocaine use is not something the Clinton campaign wants to bring to the public's attention, and even mentioning that he used to snort cocaine up his nose is clearly a classless campaign tactic. While some may perceive it, saying that a vote for Obama is a vote for cocaine is not a strategy we plan on persuing. But he did, you know. Use cocaine we mean. But you didn't hear that from us.
So, to summarize: Obama. Cocaine. Cocaine. Obama. Cocaine. Not an issue.
Oh, and marijuana too. He probably inhaled as well. Again, not something we wish to make an issue, the whole cocaine and marijuana thing.
Obama Cocainefully Yours,
The Clinton Campaign"
Well, I'm glad that's been cleared up.

The Clinton Campaign responds
[Read the article: Bob Johnson's "free ride"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Dear Democract Voter,
We won't mention again that Obama used to do cocaine. Obama's past cocaine use is not something the Clinton campaign wants to bring to the public's attention, and even mentioning that he used to snort cocaine up his nose is clearly a classless campaign tactic. While many astute, intelligent, and informed people may perceive it as such, saying that a vote for Obama is a vote for cocaine is not a strategy we plan on persuing. But he did, you know. Use cocaine we mean. But you didn't hear that from us.
So, to summarize our position: Obama. Cocaine. Cocaine. Obama. Cocaine. Not an issue.
Oh, and marijuana too. He probably inhaled as well. Again, not something we wish to make an issue, the whole Obama-cocaine and marijuana thing.
Obama Cocainefully Yours,
The Clinton Campaign
Unless you don't like it. Then it's from somebody else.

Obama has admitted to his past drug use
[Read the article: Bob Johnson's "free ride"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Another reason I'll be voting for him.
Like many people (myself included), he made a few very poor decisions when he was a teenager, including experimenting with drugs. I'm a wiser man today for having made those mistakes, and I respect Obama for admitting to them. What? Am I supposed to believe that HRC and all her supporters are so lily-white in regards to past drug use that they can pass judgement on Obama for something he did as a teenager? Sorry. I don't buy it. Bill Clinton still has to answer to me for his ridiculous "I didn't inhale" statement. Does making such a dishonest stance speak well for the candidate? Does this show the kind of honesty and courage we've been calling for for 8 years? Give me a break.
As long as the issue is on the table though, I'd very much like to hear the candidates views on the War on Drugs.

spoon daddy, you forgot a few
[Read the article: The race vs. gender war]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]-In 2005 she co-sponsored an obviously unconstitutional flag-burning amendment.
-Since she seems to want to run on the successes of her husband's administration, I suppose it's fair that she should be taken to task for its failures as well, right? For instance, as she given us any indication that she will reverse her husband's escalation of the War on Drugs?

Why does this site seem to report exclusively on Apple?
[Read the article: Apple's solid Macworld is kind of a letdown]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]There are other computer companies in the US.
I think. Let me check. Yep. There are.

Clinton is getting a pass on this one.
[Read the article: Having it both ways]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It obvious that Bob Johnson's statements were an attemtped reference to Obama's past drug use, which is all fine and good. If he had explicitly said that was what he was refering to, there wouldn't be a problem. The conversation would actually be about Obama's past drug use, which some people think is important (I don't personally).
The issue now is Johnson's ridiculous back-pedaling and Clinton's hypocritical comments about the supposed negative campaign Obama is running. That Clinton seems to be buying Johnson's excuse either means that she's an idiot, or that she thinks that we are idiots.
The former is obviously not true. The latter is debatable.

What I love about hockey
[Read the article: The K Chronicles]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Scenario 1: 200+ pound American basketball player on defense gets barely brushed by another player making an offensive drive. He immediately tumbles to the ground and clutches his ankle in agony. Ref calls a foul. Play stops. Player gets up and runs around like nothing happened. Rinse. Repeat.
Scenario 2: Very similar to scenario 1 except the game is soccer and the player only weighs 175 pounds and is Italian. This time there are tears and a much better show of pain. that is until the foul is (or isn't called). Then the player gets back up and runs around like nothing happened. My favorite is when these Oscar winners get taken off the field in a stretcher. Hahahahahahahaha. Give me a break.
Scenario 3: Football. Plays last 3 seconds, followed by a 30 seconds of everyone setting up again for the next 3 second play. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....
Scenario 4: Baseball. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Just zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....
HOCKEY: Player actually hurts himself during play and breaks his hand. Hockeystick is taped to his hand and he is pushed back out on the ice. YES! That is tough! Play hardly ever stops, and fighting gets you a few minutes in the box instead of a huge fine and suspension. That's entertainment! These guys make other athletes look like 6 year old schoolgirls.
