Bush nominee broke law
[Read the article: Bush nominee broke law]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Surprise! Surprise! Surprise! another Bush appointee who won't abide by the law. This judge is just another example of the blatant disregard that the current administration and the Republican machine have for the Constitution and the Congress.

Quick and painless.
[Read the article: What's the best method for a painless suicide?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]They use canarys in mines to warn of dangerous concentrations of gaswhen it gets too high the first one to go is the canary. Your garage is a great place to concentrate carbon monoxide so simply get in the car, close the garage door, put on some music you really enjoy, light a cigar, open a bottle of wine, start the car and sit back as you drift away to a favorie tune. A painless and pointless end to life. Let someone know what you find on the other side. By the way don't leave a note since that would leave you subject to prosecuetion for the crime of suicide. Make it appear that you were just a little addled and forgot to turn off the engine while you sipped wine and listened to the radio.

Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch.
[Read the article: James Dobson's Rudy problem]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]This couldn't be happening to a nicer bunch. For the past 30 years, maybe more I overlooked the Moral Majority, the country has been subjected to the ideology of these snake handling zealots and their bigotted ilk. These people are decendents of the traitorous Confederacy which to this day still has their white supremacist goal of a "christian" ( read white ) nation. The values they espouse are simple; christians and white folks are superior to all the rest of the country so screw them.
In truth though I see this as just another ploy by the Republican Party apparatus to make certain they hand off the mess that Bush and compnay have made. In my opinion the Republican party is simply going to blame the inevitable failure of the Iraq war and it's attendant fallout on the Democrats.
Why field a decent candidate and possibly wind up having to deal with the mess that Bush and his cronies created when it will be so easy to convince the ill informed electorate that all future problems are the result of decisions that the Democrat who is in office then makes?
Whoever wins the election can be certain he or she will be saddled with the myriad of bad decisions and failed policies that will be Bush's legacy. Whatever the next president does will be portrayed with the old saw of weak on defence and big on taxes as he or she works to extricate us from this 8 year debacle just as the Republican revisionists do today when mentioning our loss in Vietnam.

We'll Miss Him
[Read the article: John Edwards exits with honor]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Those of us who supported John Edwards will miss him. He spoke truth to power and ultimately paid the price. While much has been made about the Clinton Obama factor the unspoken issue was tha John Edwards dared to confront the corporations. With the media in the hands of six major corporations his attacks on the excessive influence of corporations was his death knell. There was no way that the people who benefit from the current political situation would allow a man totally at odds with them to get his message across.
We can only hope that he and his wife will continue to speak about the issues that sideline the average person's voice in favor of the corporate hierarchy.

Bible thumpers and closet drunks.
[Read the article: Confessions of an RNC security guard]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The ones who stay out the latest and come back the drunkest, I notice, are the Huckabee folks, the party's rural conservatives. They believe in Jesus, in the hard-bitten way of the true alcoholic.
Typical .... the bible belt hypocrites keep beating us over the head with their "values" while they go out binge drinking and stuffing dollar bills in g-strings at the strip clubs.
