Wait a sec...

Several members of Congress, such as Rush Holt, have called on Obama not to wait for Congress to act and, instead, to immediately issue an Executive Order compelling government-wide compliance with the Army Field Manual. Obama should do that. But, as Holt recognizes, this is really an area where Congress can and must legislate.

How could Obama do that when he's not president yet? Unless you mean immediately after he is inaugurated, then we will then have no choice but to wait...

I voted for Obama, knowing fully that he would give in to the temptation of power...

...So why did I vote for him? Because of the Republicans. The Republicans operate on one principal: IOKIYAR. The republicans have the spine (more like "brazenness") that the dems don't. I was just hoping that they'll hypocritically oppose the president on some libertarian-esque grounds that he was "expanding big brother" despite overseeing that expanse under president Bush, and would be joined by some consistent Civil Libertarians like Feingold.

That was my hope, anyway. We'll see if it will play out. Glenn, what do you think?
