Your Kidding, Right?

Our problems today are caused by business schools.

Corporations are a legal fiction that they are basically people who never die. To this end our business models should be interested in the survival of the corporation. Today our business leaders ( If that statement isn't laughable, I don't know what's funny anymore) have decided that maximization of short term profits is the end all of the business manager.

Now it wouldn't be a problem what business thinks if we had governmental leadership. Oops, another joke. Congress, both sides of the aisle, have let business run freely amok. The only time congress gets involved is to pass a law to help a business rip off the public more easily.

Business need cheap labor. Pass legislation to let workers be brought in to displace US workers. Set up a tax code to reward for outsourcing jobs.

Ford build the Pinto, Dalcon Shield, preditory lenders get sued. We need tort reform to protect business from lawyers who get money for victims.

Bankruptcy for consumers? Hell no. That would harm business. Congress must get backruptcy for consumers.

And the press, the much vaunted press. Talk about sex scandals. Talk about bribery scandals occasionally. But don't do any real reporting on what congress and business are doing.

I'll tell you what the press is doing, NOT A DAMN THING...

Something doesn't make sense here;... Oh yeah, it's Dr Dyson

In this little interview Dr. Dyson talks about his family in Detroit. His dad worked for 33 years in a factory. He had a father and a mother, a stable family. He had good roll models.

He had the chance to go to an elite school and he screwed it up. It sounds like he knocked up a girl and married her, ever hear about contraception? He seems to have shown a lack of judgment.

Finally, he grew up went back to school and made a success of himself. How is/are his problem(s) the result of anything but his choices?

He was failing because of his choices and he succeeded because of his choices after he grew up. You can't blame racism for your stupid choices.

Duke

Did any of the media wait for the facts to come out before they tarred and feathered the Duke lacrosse players in the rape of Chrystal Mangum?

Was that race bating? Or are we always to have a one way street when it comes to race?

The Day The Humor Died

The late night hosts haven't benn able to poke fun at Obama during the campaign. None of the faux news shows have dared to comment on Obama at all.

Tonight Boston Legal took extreme care to attack McCain and not attack Obama in any substantive way.

Do I think that these shows will comment satirically on Obama. NOT A CHANCE.

Obama is an untouchable. To Satirize him will be considered a hate crime.

SoFla Kate

Your kidding, right?

You can't really believe that Obama takes the heat of

McCain. Or can you? Hummmm...

By the way I voted a straight Dem ticket with one BIG exception.

Really?

You know less about what constitutes good television than you do about automobiles.

After reading the start of your article I wouldn't have believed it to be true.

Don't go away mad. Jusy go the hell away.

You are fool in so many ways, it's hard to know where to start.

Several years ago a car was made by a japanese car marker andf a British car maker. The parts were interchangable, yet the British auto was judged to be mechanically inferior. The concept of the vaunted Japanese quality is greatly over rated.

I have other stories along this line but I just don't respect your intelect enough to tell them to you.

Ok, let them fail...

Then watch the Pension Guarantee Fund crater even more, someone will have to pick up all those pensions... at a far reduced rate to those receiving those pensions. watch people who worked hard all of their lives drift into poverty.

Go ahead and throw 3 million or more people out of work. Watch even more mortgages to belly up. That'll really help out the banks. You bet.

Destroy the automobile industry. Go ahead, who do you think makes the HumVees we use in Iraq? Who do you think makes some of the tanks? Some of the heavy trucks thatcarry military cargo to the troops.

Go ahead. Destroy this country as a military power. Do you really think that we don't bail out huge companies? How about Boing and their sweetheart air tanker deal. Do you really think that you can farm out production of military vechicles to foreign suppliers? Or better yet, let the federal government manufacture them for use. That'd be one hell of an idea.

Some will cite simple economic theory. Well, if they try to cite simple supply and demand theory then are jusy simple. Huge industries are not free market because the costs to enter the market are so large. Auto is an oligopoly, and as such doesn't follow simple market theory.

I'd expect the cost of starting a viable new auto company in the USA from scratch would be around 100-200 billion dollars. That sure doesn't sound like easy entry into the market.

Already we've lost our steel industry to Japan. We've outsourced our IT jobs, and sold out our high tech workers. Most high tech developements happen in the USA and then are sent to Japan to manufacture.

Our taxes are being done in India. Our x-rays are being read in India. Soon people will be required to have operations done in India.

We have to stop these suicidal acts and go back to making products and providing services for ourselves.
