Pirro is nuts

When Pirro talks of child molesters and murderers, could she be referring to the numerous Christian zealots who turn out to be sex offenders? Child killer Susan Smith's father, himself a Christian snakehandler, is a sex ofender.

Michael Brown is a failure as a human being

This is the same guy who said he was going to gorge himself on Mexican food and margaritas when he "stepped down" from FEMA. Clearly he's more concerned about his daily food intake than saving lives...or anything else. How he can show his face anywhere, knowing he's responsible for thousands of lost lives, is beyond all comprehension. He's a failure to the human race. But to Bush, he did "a heckuva good job."

Bush to Bono

"I like that 'War' record you guys did. Not the music, I just like the name."

My son can help

Yesterday my nine-year-old son scored perfect A's in all of his tests. I was most pleased at his spelling and composition papers; his work was both accurate and thorough.

Given that my son is on such an academic roll, I would like to offer his services to Harriet Miers for any future job applications the Supreme Court nominee is required to turn in. Not that he might help Ms. Miers. Rather, it is my hope that my son, given his high marks in fourth grade, might be looked upon favorably by George Bush when and if Ms. Miers is rejected for that awesome Supreme Court gig.

By the way, the other day my son told me that I was "the most brilliant man he's ever met." We were in Toys R Us at the time and he wanted a new video game.

Liberals must hit Hutchinson and GOP hard!

Looks like Sen. Hutchinson, an obvious dope, got the call to carry water for Bush and the GOP -- hence, her idiotic appearance on "Meet The Press." Regardless of her assery, and the transparency of the GOP talking points, we musn't let them get away with it -- not for one second.

The imminent indictments are for very real crimes, including perjury. That the GOP impeached Bill Clinton for perjury alone must be stressed -- thrown in Republicans' faces -- again and again. Their hypocrisy can't go unchecked.

Peyer is an embarrassment

New York Post columnist and Republican water carrier Andrea Peyer is an embarrassment as a journalist. The few times I have even attempted to read her scrawlings -- and I, as a clear-thinking individual, try never read the Post unless I'm trapped somewhere with absolutely no alternative -- have left me scratching my head wondering, With so many talented writers looking for work, why her? But I guess that when the GOP water needs carrying and she's so willing, talent and insight aren't really necessary.

I had the same experience

A beautiful story, Joyce. I, too, am a writer, and earlier this year I, too, took my nine-year-old son to see Green Day. It was his first rock concert and my thousand-somethingth, but it could have been my first -- the shared experience was so emotionally powerful that everything felt fresh again. We saw U2 together just two weeks ago, and once again I felt that incredible rush.

It's interesting that bands like Green Day and U2 bridge the cultural divide. Just one of the many reasons we need them more than ever.

Kick Judy Miller to the curb

The only severence package Judy Miller deserves is a swift kick to the curb followed by the words, "And stay out!"

That she is an embarrassment to journalism is a given; that she is a traitor and a threat to national security -- a tool for the Rove/Cheney-led Bush Crime Operation -- is doubly disturbing. The only editorial she should be allowed to write is an apology to the families of the dead, people she helped to kill, in this insane and illegal "war."

Judy Miller is nobody's hero -- unless you work for Halliburton.

Other jobs for Judy Miller

After I posted my initial letter I thought of some possible new avenues of employment for Judy Miller:

1) The Fox Network. Somebody needs to stick loofahs up Bill O'Reilly's butt, or blow that brain-atrophied monkey bow Sean Hannity. Judy Miller would gladly do so.

2) Guest columnist on Jeff "Jillylube" Hot Army Action Stud Gannon's excuse for a website. Gannon can't write, tell the truth, or formulate linear thoughts -- and look how far he's come (ba-dump-bump!). Judy Miller is Gannon's literary equal.

Don't be naive, lsc21361

To the reader lsc21361, don't be naive. I'm sure if we did a six degrees of separation on how you make your living, we could find a nexxus between you and Republicans. To think that Republicans (and Democrats) don't, in some way, profit from all of us is ridiculous.

Green Day should be commended for their views, and a brilliant album. And Joyce's piece is great.

Screw Duffy

Screw this toolbox Duffy. As long as we have a non-elected ass clown in the White House, the Onion should go ahead and use the presidential seal all it wants. We all should. Everybody, use the presidential seal, use it on letters, use it on post-it pads. It's ours anyway.

Hutchinson is a liar and a hypocrite

There is no possible spin the hideous Sen. Kaye Bailey Hutchinson could apply to her ridiculous Rove-written GOP talking points that could make them plausible to anybody who isn't a knuckle-dragging watcher of Fox News.

When Bill Clinton -- great leader, not-so-great husband -- lied about getting some oral sex, Hutchinson and fellow freaks like Bill Frist called for his impeachment based soley on perjury. Yet George Bush and his band of snake-handling thugs can kill thousands based on lies and obfuscation, and hey, that's A-OK -- 'cause if you're a Republican, whatever you do to kill and reap billions of dollars, that's just good politics.

Sen. Hutchinson should apologize for her hypocrisy -- on the senate floor. And if the folks in Texas have any smarts, they must do the right thing and send her packing, off to the glue factory where she belongs.

Throw Rove in a cold cement cell

I know I shouldn't get my hopes up, but I won't be happy until Karl Rove is tossed in a cold cement cell with a large crazy man who has a thing for fat ugly men.
