Ahem...

I'm not particularly an Obama supporter.

Here was the order for me (when choice was an option):

Dodd

Kuchinch

Edwards

Obama

Clinton

Clinton took her name off that list when she showed her complete and total lack of principle by refusing to take a stand on telecom immunity. That leaves Obama by default.

So don't get all pissy at me because you rabid partisans have limited my choices to twiddle-dee or twiddle-dum.

Who'd have thought soldiers were such fragile souls?

Goodness, a city council passes a resolution and Senator DeMint and the entire Marine Corps collectively clutches it's pearls. I think this reaction might shine some light on the reasons for our failures in Iraq, eh?

Wherever Chesty is, if he actually ever cried it would probably be bitter tears of shame.

Funny

That those who vehemently proclaim "freedom isn't free" and "if you cherish your freedom, thank a soldier" are the first to tell other people to STFU if they don't like what is being expressed.

I wonder what the Marine Corps thinks about this? Are their panties in bunch over this as well?

Strange claims?

You mean "lies".

From CBSNews.com:

The Washington Post quoted longtime aide John Weaver, who split with McCain last year, as saying he met with lobbyist Iseman and urged her to steer clear of McCain

"I never discussed it with John Weaver. As far as I know, there was no necessity for it," McCain said. "I don't know anything about it," he added. "John Weaver is a friend of mine. He remains a friend of mine. But I certainly didn't know anything of that nature."

"As far as I know there was no necessity for it"? Weaver is still a "friend" after spreading a vicious slander during the most important race of McCain's life?

Here's the real NY Times story: McCain is an incredible liar.

Haven't we had enough of these dishonest people by now? Finally?

Simple

"The fact that he might not have complied with rules that we despised and opposed is supposed to affect us how?"

It will only affect you if the rest of us can catch you and put you in prison for your crimal acts, since people who operate without ethics aren't normally affected in other ways.

Original article: Are you going to hell?

I'm sorry

But clearly religion doesn't explain the human experience.

We are a backwater solar system in a backwater galaxy in the universe. We will live and die and burn up in seven billion years without having the benefit of interacting with our intergalactic neighbors. It's sad but true.

The only thing we can hold on is to treat our children with love and respect. I don't know if it matters in the long term, but it matters to me.

So that's what I do.

Who cares?

Seriously, who gives a crap about anything William F. Buckley had to say anyway?

He hated niggers, queers and liberals.

That's all we need to know.

The Catholic League = The Nation of Islam

In my opinion. That Obama refutes the endorsement and McCain embraces it is certainly telling.

Oh for pete's sake

"So maybe it doesn't always work -- you take it, and still get sick. What about the times it does work? Sure, maybe the effect is only placebo. But doesn't that still count?"

No, it doesn't count. Even a little. It never works. Ever.

Apparently Farhad isn't mad about being lied to, he just wishes they'd been better liars.

So...

I guess this means he has forgiven Bush for the race baiting campaign he conducted using McCain's adopted daughter in 2000?

I wonder how that conversation is going to go in twenty years or so. "Gee honey, I didn't defend you and I embraced those who attacked you because I really really wanted to be president".

McCain the Cowardly Lion.

Here's why they won't be revealed

"the insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan are guilty of every war crime in the book, this is a documented, well-known FACT. The insurgents are guilty of killing civilians, mistreatment of prisoners and civilians, perfidy, taking hostages, and every other "grave" crime proscribed by the Geneva Conventions"

Everything the enemy does is a war crime, and everything American soldiers do isn't - even if they are exactly the same acts.

Have Americans killed civilians? Sure. Mistreated prisoners and civilians? I've seen those pictures. Perfidy? By definition. "Grave" crimes? See the attached list.

The commenter, like the majority of Americans, believe that by definition we can't commit war crimes even when we do. Crazy shit, but that's where we are in crazy America.

Monday, March 17, 2008 10:37 AM

Worth the effort?

Certainly it should be noted here that Mr. Cheney and his boss Mr. Bush have expended exactly zero "effort" in this enterprise - at least none that bears mentioning in the same breath as the efforts of 4000 dead American soldiers.

Sadly only sociopaths need to have this fact explained to them and they're incapable of understanding anyway.

Heh funny

I went to Calongne's website and watched her other campaign ads. Nothing but anti-immigrant bigotry. It's going to be interesting to see what the Republican response is if Obama is the candidate. They literally have nothing but racism and fear-mongering to offer.

How low will these people sink?

Original article: Quote of the day

Really?

Unhinged the angry protesters disrupting DC's serene morning Metro commute aren't effective? Well, maybe they aren't so intimidating now but angry mobs have to start somewhere.

Given that the current Administration and it's Democratic enablers seem to flout the rule of law and disregard public opinion with apparent impunity the only thing we seem to have left to us is the mob.

Bring it on, I say.

Get herpes free online!

That's about as appealing as Mr. Murdoch's odious Journal.

Original article: Bomb, bomb Iran?

Will he bomb Iran?

Of course he will. He wants 100 years of war, right?

I love these people who are against the war but are voting for McCain because they don't think he's serious. As opposed to a candidate who is against the war and says that. Personally I can't make head nor tails of wingnut logic these days so I've just stopped trying.

Oh, and BTW Mr. Blank, I'll personally stop blaming Israel for starting wars when they stop killing innocent Palestinians.
