@millerlieliker

There is nothing more unseemly than the mew of the small businessman - "Me! Me! Me!". You should stop now. You're not special, we all work for a living.

Aside from global warming all of the complaints you have about "both sides" are complaints about Republicans - or rather complaints about how the left is fighting the politicization of social issues for partisan gain by the right. This doesn't make both sides wrong, it makes the right wrong. And as for global warming, you should pay attention as it is a bi-partisan issue which is going to effect you whether you like it or not.

Conservatism has failed so miserably in this country not only because of it's dishonest attempts to cynically politicize non-political social issues (like the ones you list) but also because of it's pro-corporate, anti-capitalist policies that have killed the incentives required for small business to flourish.

But you knew that, right? After years and years and years of voting Republican now that your party has failed so miserably and completely that you can no longer even attempt to deny the obvious you throw your hands up in the air and say "it's everybody's fault!" Well, it's not. The failure is YOURS.

Heh....

Where did millerliteliker go?

I guess he's a "small business owner" like Joe is a Plumber, eh?

Yeah, who cares if McDonnell is a religious bigot with a corporatist anti-American agenda?

Really, who cares about all of that?

He "deserves" a jail cell

But here in California we've simply gotten used to Republican graft, corruption and know-nothingness. This is just more of the same ole same ole.

Republican politicians in the Golden State are really nothing but place holders for actual human beings: they eat and breathe and shit but really don't do much of anything else.

Oh, wait, they do blame all of the world's problems on liberals and wetbacks.

That's something I guess.

Say goodbye to the Republican Party

Even the people I know who were self-described "die hard" Republicans are disavowing the party.

Not that this matters of course - you can put a stake in the heart of the Republican Party but the evil and darkness it represents will never really die.

It is fun watching the "brand" flop around in it's death throes though. A small victory for humanity actually.

@Calif Mike

Corporatism doesn't increase competition and lower costs - capitalism does. Sadly all Republicans and too large a number of Democrats are simply corporate tools.

But you already knew that, didn't you?

Thursday, September 10, 2009 10:43 AM

Lies and racism

If their corporate masters didn't need the lies and there were no darkies to scapegoat there would be no Republican Party.

It's sad and stupid, but there you have the Right in American today.

Thursday, September 10, 2009 08:50 PM

Republicans are so ethically and intellecutally challenged that they can't even admit the're wrong.

The language of the bill makes it plain who the liar is, and it isn't President Obama.

No matter. Dishonest Joe's website is still down and I'll bet it's not because his supporters are swamping it.

Burn on Republicans, burn on.

Friday, September 11, 2009 09:07 AM

"based on the word of a campaign aide to the congressman"

Because really, why would he lie?

Certainly some small number of stupid racists will donate to Ol' Joe so can keep yelling at our black president, but I think the outrage and disgust actual human beings feel over this affront to American dignity will bring a mountain of cash for any non-racist that will attempt to unseat him.

But don't believe me - check his website http://www.joewilson.house.gov/ I'm sure he isn't being swamped with congratulations on being a bigot.

Friday, September 11, 2009 03:22 PM

Good point.

We should allow the Republicans to lie about everything, no matter how blatantly, and then address the lie like it has merit.

After all, it's even remotely like that "Iraq was responsible for 9/11" lie that Bush used to kill 800,000 people.

Original article: How sorry is Joe Wilson?

Wilson was wrong.

The rules are clear:

http://www.rules.house.gov/POP/house_comm_dec.htm

He is a disgrace to our country.

Wednesday, September 16, 2009 07:58 PM

What exactly is there to disagree with here?

I guess I was the only one who saw this whole 9/12 Glen Beck pro-racism march.

Funny, it was on all the news.

Thursday, September 17, 2009 04:56 PM

I love these pseudo-capitalists

If he's too stupid to figure out how to sell burgers maybe he shouldn't be in the burger selling business.

What a buffoon.

She posed topless.

If my daughter were to pose topless and then hold herself up as an example of moral rectitude I'd tell her to fix herself first before, you know, judging others - but then I'm an atheist and I have a standard of honesty I expect of my children.

Seriously, are all right-wing Christians in America liars and hypocrites? Because it sure seems that way from the outside looking in.

Original article: Irving Kristol dead at 89

@Old Joe

See, we don't like fascists.

If your ideology embraces them and laments their passing, well that's really your problem and not ours.

Friday, September 18, 2009 01:58 PM

@Laurel962

"This is an ordinary, religious, conservative, Christian girl with traditional values."

Which includes...topless photography. Seriously, is that what you are suggesting here?

Friday, September 18, 2009 03:19 PM

No...

President Carter didn't say "if you disagree with this president, it's somehow fundamentally racist in nature"

He said:

"When a radical fringe element of demonstrators and others begin to attack the president of the United States as an animal or as a reincarnation of Adolf Hitler or when they wave signs in the air that said we should have buried Obama with Kennedy, those kinds of things are beyond the bounds"

"I think people who are guilty of that kind of personal attack against Obama have been influenced to a major degree by a belief that he should not be president because he happens to be African American."

"It's a racist attitude, and my hope is and my expectation is that in the future both Democratic leaders and Republican leaders will take the initiative in condemning that kind of unprecedented attack on the president of the United States"

So, Rep. Roy Blunt is a goddamn liar.

Friday, September 18, 2009 06:54 PM

"I understand why I was frustrated."

Well that's the important thing, isn't it?

It must be quite gratifying to know that he allowed you to assist him in his personal asshat journey.

Kirk Cameron

Isn't fit to be shine Charles Darwin's shoes.

He truly is an American idiot.

Friday, September 25, 2009 11:42 AM

Well, Obama IS a smart right-winger

Oh, you meant to asky "why aren't there aren't there any intelligent Republicans?" It's because crypto-fascism attracts stupid people, as leaders and followers.
