Ummm.....

If the story is correct then Palin had to directly intervene in this police investigation. Moreover there is serious talk of her running for the nomination in 2012.

How is this a non-issue?

Original article: A town hall heartbreak

Well Mr. President

I want to live in a country that doesn't torture people and which punishes those that did. Or have we traded our souls for a little financial "help"?

It's amazing how far America has fallen in 8 years and 3 weeks.

Original article: Watching Republicans grieve

I don't care what GOPers think

Those 58 million "Americans" who voted for McCain/Palin can go jump off a cliff for all I care. I have no respect for them and no longer consider their mewing as anything other than the rantings of lunatics - even if they were polite and did invite you over for dinner Alexandra. Moreover I've already written off your cowardly faux-liberal mother And Obama is treading on thin ice himself.

I signed up for "change" and worked for it but it has nothing to do with icon images of Barack Obama: the change I want is the change back to a country where the rule of law has meaning again, where the political and media elite don't feel free (regardless of party affiliation) to torture and murder innocent people or nod-and-wink at those that do.

You want real, rational anger? Talk to a liberal.

Original article: Quote of the day

The truth a lie or complete nonsense

Republicans will literally say anything. I weary of picking through their gibberish attempting to make sense of what the party of sociopaths is yammering on about from day to day.

Now I simply ignore them.

@Ramesees

There is no "defense" needed here, folks are just pointing out the blindingly obvious point (for us Rightie Hating Liberals anyway) that begrudging a poor person a necessity we take for granted is small and childish.

I think it would suck to have to constantly mentally comfort yourself that your fellow travelers aren't really just a bunch of sociopaths. Must be hard work, so I guess all I can say is I'm sorry for your troubles.

Elephantman sounds increasingly shrill and scared

Apparently it's what happens when the cult fails and the cultists are left adrift without their authority figures. All of the wingnuts I know are responding to their sudden lack of power and relevance with crazy fear and anger.

I would like to say I was enjoying their obvious distress (or even saddened by it) but they are so void of humanity that neither response is quite satisfying. It's like caring what a rock "feels".

Tuesday, March 10, 2009 04:56 PM

@elephantman

I'm equally as curious. What part of the US Constitution allows the President to crush the testicles of his enemies' children?

Be specific, if you can.

Tuesday, March 10, 2009 06:27 PM

Sorry Elephantman

I misunderstood you to say you were a lawyer.

Never mind.

Thursday, March 12, 2009 04:49 PM

What was it that the leader of the Republicans called the President?

Oh yeah - "Barack the Magic Negro".

Nope, no racism there.

Monday, March 16, 2009 05:07 PM

Al Gore: Nobel Peace Prize winner.

Dick Cheney: torturer.

That's all that needs to be said.

Monday, March 16, 2009 07:52 PM

Hehehe......indeed.

Dan Quayle.

@Jim

What do you mean "Where did he say if the bonuses are not paid it could all blow up"? Isn't that implied? Why exactly do you think he's testifying in front of Congress?

These bonuses have nothing whatever to do with whether this crisis is "unwound" or not. The people who created this crisis (that would be the bonus babies at AIG, BTW) are evil, stupid or equal combinations of both. I wouldn't trust them to bag my groceries - they're probably too inept to do it right and would steal from the bag in any case.

And as to Mr. Liddy's comment that "Mistakes were made at AIG on the scale few could have imagined possible" (a trillion dollars worth!) what is this mysterious third-person "AIG" thing he is speaking of? Does he mean the big building with the AIG sign on it in New York? Or maybe some ethereal, un-defined, non-quantifiable money sucking entity which is currently on the loose in the countryside? He clearly couldn't mean the actual human beings who made greedy, stupid decisions with the wealth of our *entire civilization* and lost it - because I think these people are still sitting at their desks bending paperclips and collecting multi-million dollar bonuses.

@Rose Hann

I used to be confused by exactly the same thing. I've decided that the only answer that makes sense is that she simply doesn't care about her job or the state or the people (or the country for that matter). Her purpose and reason for being in politics and being the governor is to do whatever is best for her - period.

Sadly this seems to be perfectly acceptable for most Republican voters.

Not all warfare is wrong

Warfare for defense is perfectly acceptable, even honorable Not surprisingly the aggressors like Kudlow cry "foul" when they are in fear of losing.

Personally I embrace and encourage class warfare - it's the only way to change this corrupt system. You'd better brace yourself Larry, because your "class" is about to get it back from mine in spades.

You should have thought a little bit more about what your stood to lose before you started this.

Original article: Rusty and me

Sorry for your troubles

Sadly your cousin Rusty is a hate monger and a bigot - I've heard him. Or he's crazy like a fox, making money (ha ha, the laughs on us!) by doing a pretty good imitation of one for the benefit of the hate mongers and bigots that listen to his program.

I'm sorry you have taken the heat for his "persona" but that's no excuse for it. The difficulty you've encountered is nothing compared to the damage Rusty has done to America.

"There isn't a conservative left who will vote Democratic in the next election"

OMG, conservatives are going to withhold their votes? How'd that work out for you last November Dave?

I suppose your side could be more irrelevant and impotent but I really can't see how.

Thursday, April 2, 2009 03:13 PM

I don't care if dead people pay taxes

And neither do they - at least they've never complained about it. If their heirs have a problem with it they should get jobs like the rest of us. There are no free rides.

The whining sense of entitlement among the rich in America is breathtaking.
