No surprise here

The Republicans are just giving the people what they want - they want their religious bigotry stroked, their fears and hatreds reflected by their leaders, their legitimate feelings of being powerless mollified by someone who will lie to them and tell them they are strong.

In any rational nation McCain would be dismissed as a corrupt, failed and doddering has-been politician while Palin would be working as a clerk at the Shop-N-Save in Wasilla. That this isn't the case shows what a fantasy land many Americans live in.

To paraphrase Orwell, everyone believes whatever they want to believe in until the truth comes crashing down around them. He said this usually occurs on a battlefield, but with any luck ours will come on Wall Street and not in crazy Palin's war against the heathens.

We really are down the rabbit hole, aren't we?

Putting aside the issue of the money, the letter writer is really asking "what do we do with people who are a danger to themselves and others?"

The current Republican administration isn't only actively attempting to suppress the rights of the letter writer - they are torturing people.

Is there some measure that shouldn't be taken to stop this? How is the question of financial support of the torture enablers and apologists even considered open for discussion?

Well that settles it

I can't read any more of these mind-numbing comments from undecided voters.

Americans are nuts.

My prediction

Bush is going to try to scare the hell out of everyone tonight to sell his master's plan. That's his assigned task.

Given the giant mess we're in here I can only imagine the hyperbole this mindless sociopath is going to spew. His speech will be a masterpiece of lies, threats and fear-mongering not seen since....well....ever in American history.

Bank on it.

I'm so confused

I thought all Kenyans were Muslim Arabs.

Isn't that what Rush says?

"Palin Derangement Syndrome"

Ah, ok then. I see conservatives have already concocted a ready psychological defense againt any criticism of their (again) stunningly incompetent candidates.

I'm not sure how this squares with the mindless demonizing of all things labeled "liberal" by conservatives but, hey, pretty much nothing squares in their world so I just note the blinding hypocrisy and move on.

And to the American-Canadian first poster who urges we adopt a kumbaya attitude toward our Republican bothers and sisters I'll bring that up with my wingnut neighbor who believes Obama is an Arab Muslim and a terrorist.

Yes indeed, those crazy liberal sure are deranged.

Original article: World to U.S.: You suck

True enougth

The United States is extremely dysfunctional and a significant minority of it's citizens are selfish nincompoops. The generalized reaction they have to expressions of other people's interests is a petulant "I don't care what you think!" Clearly this planet is too small for such childish behavior.

Grow up America.

@Ced

"But at the same time, if these same people who condemn the United States were offered free immigration to the United States, they would take it in a heartbeat."

Really? Someone would trade the lives or their entire family for immigration to the United States?

Clearly these "people" don't have the same respect for human life as we do, right pal?

Original article: Quote of the day

@Carmina

So are you going to acknowledge the fact that Ayers isn't a "convicted terrorist" as you assert?

Monday, October 20, 2008 09:49 AM

Here ya go Mr. Davis

"What is most amazing is that regardless of repeated calls and questions from media … he has refused to, at least at this point, release names of any of his donors [who gave] under $200."

Yeah, populism is an amazing thing. Want the list of people who donated less than $200 to the Obama campaign? They're known as middle class working American voters. I know you don't know any of these folks but the next city you stop in to peddle your lies and racism and bigotry you should pick up a phone book. Obama's donor list is right there for you to see.

This is what is left of the Republicans

Angry irrational bigots and the puppet masters who are left gaping in silent astonishment at the drooling idiotic mob they've created.

The "Party of Lincoln" indeed.

Palin's a crook and a liar

She stole from the state to finance her children's travel expenses, she used the power of her office in a personal vendetta against her former brother-in-law and her husband was until recently a member of a admittedly anti-American secessionist organization.

Using campaign money to support her lavish elitist lifestyle is nothing surprising at all given her record of dishonesty and unethical behavior.

It's not about clothes, it's about character and class and Palin has neither.

Friday, October 24, 2008 04:11 PM

Sarah gets to decide who the "terrorists" are

Just like Bush - Sarah gets to be the "decider", and she's going to use her her religion or her emotions or her bigotry of whatever she feels like in her "deciding".

Given what's come to light about her character (or rather lack of character) I think it is fair to assume that she would accept no ethical or legal boundaries on her actions should she become the Vice-President.

The real answer is that Palin's thinks the "domestic terrorists" are YOU.

Friday, October 24, 2008 04:25 PM

Well JimAK1 seems to have all the answers

Except what happened to $150,000 in campaign contributions.

The real question is are you going to believe "JimAK1" or the State Of Alaska who said said the governor acted in an unethical manner in persecuting her ex brother-in-law?

Or Palin lying on her expense reports about her travel expenses?

Or her husband's anti-American activities with the Alaska Independence Party?

There is no dispute about any of this. It's all documented fact.

Palin is a crook.

Tuesday, November 11, 2008 12:36 PM

57,000,000 peole voted for Palin

What makes you think they won't do it again?

Sunday, November 16, 2008 08:34 PM
Original article: Bill Ayers talks back

See, now I'm confused

Didn't John McCain kill a whole bunch of innocent people in one of our previous illegal wars?

Wasn't the 2008 Republican vice-Presidential nominee's husband an actual self-declared anti-American activist?

Who are the "terrorists" again?

Friday, January 2, 2009 03:42 PM

This is ridiculous

The voters have spoken, Franken won by 59 votes.

I'm sorry the Republicans don't like it but the fact is they lost and they need to step aside and quit obstructing the electoral process.

This is clear and obvious. Why are the Republicans suing? Is that how the Republicans want to decide elections, in a courtroom and not at the ballot box?

Coleman lost. Get over it.
