I liked this piece better the first time I read it, when it was Zacharek's review of War of the Worlds.

I could be wrong, but I suspect that "When are you going to follow up on Rawls being gay?" is to David Simon what "When are you going to show what happened to the Russian?" was for David Chase.

I think you're selling short Paul Feig there. Feig was the creator of Freaks and Geeks and it was based on HIS high-school experiences.
