First of all someone PLEASE explain to me why these early playoff series have to go seven games?
HULLO....it's a joke. Ok, revenue, t.v, gang affiliations aside etc. etc...I get it but....GEEZ.
Championships are generally based on a seven game series and these are clearly not championships...
Meanwhile said the captain to the crew and all on board... "We're just stopping off to pick up a little ice.."
Sad but it looks like the GOP playbook is out in full review with it's usual half-facts, truths and inuendo.
Attacking a candidate's spouse is borscht, but after watching what Rove and co. whispered in the winds back in '00 why should anyone be surprised....Frankly, I'm surprised at McCain because both he and wife carry some baggage and her historical "problems" with perscription drugs are hardly a secret.....
His abscence will be conspicuous indeed....
And if you didn't get him that's really a shame.
Will never forget the first time I ran into George Carlin outside a concert hall. It was a seedy parking garage just off Broadaway and Times Square in NYC back in the early 80's. He was evediently a regular monthly patron like so many of us waitng for our vehicles to come down off the three-abreast antiquiated lift. It hardly qualified as an elevator which was fairly typical for the City in those days.
Anyway, finally down comes the lift, up goes the gate revealing one impossibly polished cream colerd Rolls Royce with the orange NY License Plate: STOLEN.
A few of us chuckled wondering who belonged to the ride when a smallish guy scurried over to the car, handed the attendant a five, looked over at the line and just kinda smiled that wry thin smile. And he was gone.
When you consider the fact someone has been cleaning up after this guy his entire adult life perhaps the sewage treatment affiliation is more accurate than you might have considered......
At the very least it would be wonderful footnote to his memoires.
:-)
Suspect there is little doubt that Senator McCain will stay the course with his present day running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska.
It has nothing to do with his mecurial vents or stubborness or seeming affinity for untenable situations either. My sense of it is that he made his "vote deal" with the christo-facist Dobson crowd and he is going to have to live with it...plain and simple.
Cool, calm and concocted this candidate ain't...right? Suspect we haven't seen anything yet either. When are the "Swiftys" gonna make their appearance? Where is this supposed Rove protege strategist that lurks so near?
C'mon dial it up and the let the games begin...
I am anxiously awaiting new levels of desperation yet this week.
:-)
This could be the most coherent statement made by ANYONE about anything in months.
She was a Master of her craft and a national treasure lost to any election cycle.
God, she was sooooo damn bright and funny, you must have wanted her all to yourself...
Seems a little unfair to me but why should we agree on this either...
These sophmoric attempts to distract the media or undecided voters from the real issue which is the ECONOMY should obviously reflect the absolute desperation of the McSame campaign to say nothing of the incoherency of the messenger
I would think it's about nigh time for Caribou Barbee to head back to her native Alaska and get to work on that ammended tax return too. Her fifteen minutes of fame based on prepared text are just about up and really how much more embarassment can the GOP absorb here?
Scary indeed....
I think this race to the bottom was always fairly predictable on the part of the GOP given recent election cycle history. Really now, how could anyone living outside a cave forget the job they did on Kerry with the Swiftys?
A better and perhaps more all telling example yet is the job Rove did on McCain, a fellow party member back in the '00 primary season with the whisper campaign of mental instability and lingering perscription drug addiction on the part of his wife. Cold enuf for you?
So why is anyone surprised? McCain can't win on the central issues of the economy-health care-Iraq while being consistently tied to the lock-step death march with Bush. And Palin may be the best example yet of why "No Child Left Behind" needs to be funded in earnest.
So this is what they do pure and simple...
It's what they are good at becasue it's obviously not government. Strap yourselves in folks becasue this thing is going to get real ugly and let's not forget push backs and counter claims aside, the media outlets would love to see some of this dirt stick to extend their own cycles.
God Bless America.....indeed
I'm sorry and I do apologize for my childish remarks but after the ice coffee went up my nose I was still laughing at the letters amidst a fistful of paper towel. BTW the ads are true too...You know the ones about Bounty as the quicker picker upper...
Poor Mr. Corsi and pleased to report that I don't feel his pain either..It only seems fair to me that if I have to listen to Caribou Barbie murder two syallable words with that phony upper midwestern shtick replete with eye ticks, he should do a little Kenyan jail time.
It will be good for his soul if he has one....
Much of the initial coverage about Fort Hood turned out to be wrong. Is there anything wrong with that?
