There are so many things so much more important than this

I don't care.

Not even a tiny bit. I just don't care.

Sarah Palin is expected to look the part. So what if that costs 150k?

The total bill for this election cycle is going to be in the neighborhood of a billion dollars, counting the primaries. It might be considerably more.

150 thousand dollars is a tiny fraction of the total amount. Can anyone compare how much difference Palin's wardrobe makes in comparison to an equal amount spent on TV advertising? Didn't think so.

I wish I had 150K to spend on a house and a car and some nice clothes. But it doesn't make any sense to bet upset about it.

How much are all of Obama's suits?

There are a lot more things about Sarah Palin that are offensive and disgusting. Why act like this particular bit of fluff makes any kind of difference?

Annoying page refreshes

It is really annoying when there are frequent page refreshes. When I am reading a story, or worse yet when I am watching a video, and right in the middle the page refreshes it makes it very hard to receive the content.

But when there is a page refresh with no new content it is just plain rude and just plain stupid.

Good grief!! Why do you have page refreshes without new content? OK, Salon reader, we want to make sure you have a fresh and up-to-date copy of exactly the same thing you had before!!

Are your webmasters such utter amateurs that they can't figure out that you don't need to refresh if there is no new content? Are the people in charge of the site so callous towards their readers that they don't give a damn when those readers are inconvenienced for no reason whatsoever? Or are you such money-grubbers for ad revenue that you don't care if you annoy or inconvenience your readers as long as you get a few extra pennies for new ad postings?

Why do you hate your readers? Stop refreshing the page when there is no new content!!! How pathetic. How amateur. How rude.

There is a point at which I will forgo the few remaining parts of this website that I enjoy. There is a point at which your ineptitude and stupidity will drive me away forever.

Come on, people!

Why doesn't anyone bring up Timothy McVeigh? Because Obama was never in his living room!!

I know an unfortunately large number of people who absolutely love Sarah Palin. (I do live in Oklahoma.) It is not possible to have any form of conversation with them about who Palin is, what she believes in, or what she has done in the past. No matter what subject the question addresses, the answer is either about Ayers or Wright.

Q: What about the municipal debt in Wasilla? None when she got there, over 20 million when she left. Over $3000 per person in the city. Equal to almost a trillion dollars of debt for the US if she does the same thing on a national level.

A: Ayers Wright Ayers, Wright Ayers Ayers, Ayers Ayers Wright.

Palin is only playing the song these people want to hear. Why would she change now?

She isn't going to change anyone's mind. She isn't really trying to change anyone's mind. Why would anyone expect anything else from her?

Should we be covering Palin's wardrobe?

No.

It's that simple.

No.

It is irrelevant to the issues that shape the race. It is even less relevant than all the Ayers crap that she natters on about. Is it going to change anyone's mind? No. Those who see her for what she is will not be surprised, and still despise her. Those who are deluded and therefore idolize her will not understand what you are talking about. And those who are undecided are far more likely to think Palin is being unfairly picked on than they are to think that either she or the McCain campaign are misguided to spend that much money on Palin's "look." (If something like this were going to cause someone to think negatively about Palin, they would already think negatively about her.)

Instead talk about the travel expenses she charged to the State of Alaska to take her children on tourist trips. Five days in a $700 hotel for a one-day conference, and other money-wasting trips.

So, no coverage beyond mentioning it, then moving on.

Unless, that is, you want to provide ammunition for the Republicans to use on the ever-shrinking pool of undecided voters.

Original article: Obama defines the moment

It's obvious

It's obvious Obama is wrong for America.

He is shrill, he is scary, he has no plan, he is unready.

He will consort with terrorists, he will raise our taxes, he will ship our jobs overseas, he will raise up the undeserving Muslim blacks above the God-fearing, Christian, white, real Americans.

He will turn all our cherished institutions over to America-hating Socialists who will tear them to the ground and destroy the remains of our economy.

In short, he will destroy our proud country.

Wait, what? What did he say? He isn't planning to do any of that?

He must be just telling any lie he can tell in order to deceive us and steal our country away.

At least, that's what everyone is saying here in Oklahoma.

Idiots like kimbah

Idiots like kimbah can't defend Palin's short-sightedness, her lack of understanding, her pandering to the ignorant. So they respond with off-topic attacks that are irrelevant and weak.

Oh no kimbah, your biting wit and your laser-like focus on what is important have totally devastated us all. We will meekly and humbly vote straight-party Republican.

It is all because of you.
