@ Christina Stroz: You come across as irrational and false

You support Sarah Palin, when her history holds nothing but deceit and mismanagement. Examine her history as mayor of Wasilla. Wasting money, poor decisions, wasting more money, plus some wasting money. Hockey center, city manager, redecorating her office, enormous debt. Oh yeah, she was a great mayor.

Or as governor, when she charged the state a per diem for food while she was living in her own house. This is a shameless money-grubber for her own pocket, and a wild spender of other people's money for her own benefit.

You call yourself a feminist, but repeatedly use the term "feminazi." That is a term coined solely to denigrate women by Rush Limbaugh, a man who proudly hates feminism.

You say that you consider abortion to be murder, but you call yourself "pro-abortion." So, you are saying out of your own mouth that you are pro-murder???

You call brightstar's wild paranoid delusional rants intelligent. That is the most baffling to me.

None of these things are the kind of things I am able to take seriously. In fact, it is difficult not to think of anyone who claims to hold those views as being unbalanced.

Sorry, I cannot respect anything you say.

@ brightstar

The more I discuss issues with leftists, the more reason I have to believe they are not worth the time, because they refuse to respect or acknowledge others' viewpoints.

Would that you would come to fully believe that. And take your angry paranoid delusional ranting elsewhere.

We "leftists" are not worth the time! We refuse to respect or acknowledge your viewpoints. Stop wasting your time on us!

@ jamartinjr

No offense, but I don't understand how people can change teams, or develop enough of a seasonal rooting interest to actually purchase gear...

I was a baseball fan growing up. I rooted for the Cardinals and the Royals because they were the teams I could hear on the radio. But I never developed a true loyalty to the teams, never developed a real connection with them. I never had any of their gear.

When I moved to Houston, I had a team in my city for the first time. I regularly went to games. I developed a connection to the team. They are the first team I really connected with.

That connection will be life-long. Were I to move to another city that has a major league team, I would root for them except when they played the Astros. I would still listen to the Astros over the internet. I would still wear their gear.

You seem to be saying that you can't understand buying any team's gear. Is that really what you mean? Or are you talking about buying gear for a team you are only supporting for a single season?

I have not transferred my loyalty to the Rays. I am merely rooting for them in this postseason, since the Astros are not involved. I certainly haven't purchased any Rays gear.

I am rooting for the Rays for this World Series. After it is over, I will go back to only rooting for them when they play the Yankees or Red Sox. The rest of the time I won't pay that much attention to them, no more than I pay to other teams in the American League.

But for now, Go Rays.

Original article: "I'm Joe the Plumber"

"I'm Joe the Plumber"

Joe the Plumber has be shown to be a liar.

He is not a licensed plumber, he completely lacks the financial wherewithal to purchase a plumbing company. If a company does $250,000 a year in business, that definitely does not mean that it earns $250,000, and would be liable for a higher tax rate.

He was almost certainly a plant.

So by saying "I'm Joe the Plumber," all the people in the commercial are saying that they are deceitful and untrustworthy.

I find it tremendously funny that the McCain campaign thinks this kind of anti-intelligent "gotcha" commercial is going to sway anyone's votes.

Let me put it simply: Anyone whose understanding of the issues is poor enough to be influenced by this commercial decided to vote for McCain long ago.

What a waste of money!

A gloating creepy smile

McCain says, "Senator Obama's supporters have been saying some pretty nasty things about western Pennsylvania lately."

And then he looks all around the crowd with his extra-creepy smile.

What message is that supposed to convey? It's as if he is gloating at them. "Ha ha, someone said something mean about you!"

The best thing about McCain these days is that his campaign is so nasty, and so pathetic, that the only people who are influence by the crap he is peddling weren't ever going to vote for anyone else anyway.

Spend that money, John!

Wow, brightstar, you are not 100% pointlessly annoying

I cannot blame you for feeling put upon that you actually have to deal with someone challenging your beliefs.

That is hilarious! I laughed long and loud.

Just so you know, I don't feel that my beliefs are challenged when someone makes an angry paranoid delusional rant. Nothing you have ever said has challenged any of my beliefs. The dog next door who barks incessantly is annoying, but not because it challenges my beliefs.

But, again, thanks for the laughs!

re: Event Horizon

Event Horizon thinks people shouldn't have to pay taxes, because taxes are nothing more that the government "stealing."

Oh, and those roads and firemen and policemen and such? Those are the evil fruits of stealing. So Event Horizon doesn't avail himself of those things, because they are made possible by STEALING.
