I don't think brightstar is irrelevant.
I think he is angry, I think he is incoherent. I think his arguments are irrational and only supportable if you live in a paranoid fantasy land.
He doesn't engage in rational discussions. It's more like "I'm right, and if you say I'm wrong it's only because you have submitted to the feminist groupthink, you have 'drunk the kool-aid,' and the only way you have any relevance is to agree with me 100%."
I think by examining his responses on this thread you will see that I am correct. This has been his exclusive modus operani since he first began posting here. Trying to engage with him just generates more infantile angry ranting and accusations.
I just think these boards have enough angry ranting without encouraging people who have repeatedly demonstrated that they aren't capable of any other behavior.
Pardon me for misinterpreting your post.
My sincerest apologies.
If you understand the situation, and choose to go ahead and make the effort, well, good luck I guess.
And I do skip over his posts most of the time. I know I am not likely to find anything worth reading.`

Oh, and Nelson Mandela has been married three times. His longest marriage was to Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, who was his wife during his imprisonment. She was actually quite an embarrassment to him, and he separated from her as soon as he was released from prison, and divorced her soon after. He married his third wife at age 80.
The example of Nelson Mandela is hard to fit into either your argument or brightstar's argument. The life of a revolutionary is fraught with dangers, long separations, and temptations. Since so few humans ever experience such conditions, it is probably fruitless to make comparisons with other people's lives.
You quoted something I posted about not responding to a someone.
Then you falsely claimed it was a call for censorship.
What is that all about? I never even remotely implied he should not be allowed to post. I merely stated that it wasn't a good idea to encourage further posts. If he wants to rant, let him. I would just prefer if people didn't rattle his cage, encouraging further rants.
Call me intolerant. Maybe, about some things. Call me arrogant, obnoxious, inane, yeah, probably sometimes.
But don't accuse me of censorship. I am a firm believer in freedom of speech. I would defend anyone's right to say whatever they want to say. But if I think someone is angry, incoherent, and repetitive, I will discourage people from riling him up, so that he says what he has to say and then goes away.
But I don't censor people, and I would appreciate it if you didn't make such false accusations.
This is my point about brightstar.
A rambling, angry, paranoid rant. To what end? I can't believe he really thinks a screed such as this will convince anyone, will change anyone's mind. And isn't it easy to imagine a keyboard and a monitor dotted with flecks of spittle?
If he were able to express his opinions without what appears to be delusional paranoia, without speaking in absolutes, without shouting, maybe someone would take him seriously.
But when this is what spews forth, I would rather do without.
Daddo has said elsewhere that he thinks Palin is highly qualified and has values he supports.
In other words, he just doesn't get it at all.
When I moved to Houston in 1984, I became an Astros fan.
I grew up in Tulsa where a St. Louis farm played when I was young. I was a Cardinals fan and a Royals fan as a teenager, because those were games I could always get on the radio. Cable TV didn't come to my parents home until after I had moved to Houston.
Since 1984 I have been a die-hard Astros fan. I have lived in Houston or Tulsa since then. (I am back in Tulsa now.)
When the Astros were eliminated in the final weekend, I had to decide who I was going to root for in this year's postseason. None of the teams I normally root for besides the Astros made the postseason. The Cubs and the Red Sox, two teams I always root against, were in the playoffs, but I need more than rooting against. I need someone to root for.
I chose the Rays this year. They are a fun story. Never had a winning season, worst-to-first, beat the hated Yankees and the hated Red Sox. They are my team for this postseason.
I have not purchased any Rays apparel, and I am not claiming any long-term loyalty. But for this year's playoffs, I am happily on the bandwagon.
That doesn't mean I haven't been proudly wearing my Astros gear.
But for now, Go Rays!!!
Anyone living anywhere in Oklahoma can be a Real American, if:
They say the Lord's Prayer at all high school athletic competitions,
Are professing Christians,
Vote Republican,
and,
Don't talk with an accent. Oklahoma Hick is not an accent. It is the right way to speak.
Havin' too many rules about who cain or cain't be a Real Mercan is high-falutin' and elitetist, like some daggone New Yorker.
