Let's see, liar writes book; Also, a little more partisan hackery

Two issues, McClellan, and Clinton shilling.

First, the utter lack of credibility of Scott McClellan:

The man spends years lying and lying and lying. Now he comes out with a book outlining all the bad things that were happening that he was lying about. So, suddenly, because what he is saying happens to agree with your political views, he has credibility?

Uh, no. He is a shameless liar, and even if I want to believe the things he is saying, he is still a shameless liar. No one should ever give any consideration to anything McClellan ever says again.

Well, maybe thirty years from now. Maybe.

But for now, he is still a liar LIAR LIAR, no matter how much contempt I have for those he names in his book.

Second, a few more digs at Obama, still blaming him for Clinton's reprehensible and indefensible assassination comment. You have no shame at all, do you Walsh?

@ bilhelm

That is the kind of remark I would expect from you if you are a Republican troll, hoping to sow dissent and acrimony.

It is not what I would expect from a true Obama supporter.

Original article: Clinton wins!

Cross-posting from Bizarro World!

Something is wrong with my computer. I am getting crossover interference from Bizarro World!

Look:

She got more votes than Obama

That makes her the winner.

The media want Obama, the voters want Hillary.

I have to get that fixed!

Flyover Country

I live in Flyover Country. And I promise you, the only reason folks around here would not vote for McCain is if he were to pick Hillary for his running mate.

So, really, I am 100% behind a McCain/Clinton ticket.

Sexism and Clinton

I think that Clinton would have been able to easily overcome the rampant sexism in this race if she had run a better campaign. How much blame for her failure can be laid at the feet of her male advisers?

I also think, had it not been for the unfortunately timed historical Obama candidacy, she would still have won, despite the sexism and the ineptitude.

Did she face a reprehensible and inexcusable amount of prejudice simply because she is a woman. Yes, certainly. Did this doom her campaign? I don't know. Possibly. I would like to believe that this country is grown up enough for that not to be an issue, but I am not that starry-eyed.

Please do not forget that there are people who dislike Clinton for honest and legitimate reasons beyond the fact that she is a woman.

And for those of you who are wavering about supporting Obama in the general, keep repeating the following two words to yourselves:

Supreme Court.

Good Grief!

I did NOT mean Clinton for the Supreme Court. I meant a McCain victory could pack the Supreme Court for decades to come.

Good Grief!

This seems interesting. Too bad Salon doesn't have a story about it.

There is no way I am going to watch an amateur talking head read her article at me.

I guess I have to go googling to find somewhere there is an article written about it.

@ momof2

The Hebrew name "Uri" is spelled with a "U" in English, not with two "o"'s. (Uri Geller ring a bell?) The way you spelled it looks silly.

Um, that's the way it is spelled in the movie: Oori.

Try some research.

Original article: Ask the pilot

Is it the Aurora Borealis?

There is a tradition (Superstition? Old wives tale? Whatever.) in Japan that children conceived while the aurora is occurring will be exceptional. Smart, lucky, attractive, I don't remember for sure. But Japanese tour companies put together packages to the appropriate latitudes so that couples get the opportunity to conceive a child under the Norther Lights. Perhaps this is the reason why?

And, appropriately enough, I first heard of this on an episode of Northern Exposure.

2000 years

Good grief people. It is a mother in a comedy. This is not in any way meant to be some sort of historically accurate representation.

It's a joke. It is an exaggeration of the silliness of a mother. OK?
