News flash:
Not every interaction between a white person and a black person involves racism. Sorry to take the wind out of your victimhood sails, but that is the way it is.
I have been involved in denying entry to proms to white girls. Their option was to go home or go to jail. They went home. Had they thrown a fit, they would have gone to jail. Every girl in such a situation in my experience has been wise enough to go home.
Also, the No Refund policy was always clearly stated. If you show up in inappropriate clothing, you will not be admitted, and you will receive no refund. Being black has no relevance.
And all the black women I have dated would laugh themselves silly at the stupidity of your accusation of racism.
And as far a fascist goes, when was the last time you worked at an inner city or at-risk rural high school? When was the last time you were cussed out by a student? Or threatened with violence by a student? Until you have been through what I have been through, and handled the situations I have handled, you really have no grounds whatsoever to speak to me about dealing with high school students.
Oh, and by the way, your attitude that any time any black person gets into any trouble at all, no matter what they may have done to deserve it, it is racism, sets race relations back decades. I hope you are proud.
You have admitted that "you remember high school." In other words, you have no experience in such situations. So you basically don't know what you are talking about.
Also, I have never had to call the police. The students have always chosen to leave on their own.
But I would not hesitate to call the police if it were necessary. When I am responsible for the safety of hundreds of children, I don't have the luxury of an extended one-on-one conflict resolution session with one child bent on disruption.
You know nothing about me, yet it doesn't seem to bother you to call me names and impugn my professionalism. And you say I am not an adult.
I teach math. In general, my students like me very much. They learn very much. They are glad to come to my class. If I am out, and there is a substitute, the are delighted and relieved when I return. My standardized test scores are excellent. Parents try to get their children into my classes. Students try to get into my classes. Students try to get me to teach whatever math class they are taking next year.
But because I think discipline should be enforced in schools and at school activities, I am "another brick in the wall?" My attitude is that we "need more truncheons and tasers?"
By your own admission you lack the experience to discuss this topic. But somehow you know better than me the appropriate way to deal with high school students?
Sir, it is you who is the problem with American public school education, not me.
I give you the last word on the subject, I am no longer going to waste my time interacting with you.
It's not Target.
It's Wal-Mart.
I meant:
It's not Target.
It's Home Depot.
None of the little people have any business knowing what goes on with the superrich.
So butt out of what does not concern you and is beyond your comprehension!
From Hans B:
Obama will win the White House because the Republicans don't want it. Seriously, why else would they have put up such a sorry bunch of candidates. Why else would they have gone along with Bush deferring mountains of government liabilities to February 2009. All things point to a simple intention: make the mess as big as possible, let the Dems take the blame for cleaning it up, and come back when there's some money in the machine again.
The only problem is that it underestimates the Democrats Will to Lose.
Standing just short of the finish line, the Democrats are furiously arguing which foot to use to cross it. By the time they finally decide, the race will be long over.
(This will probably get me mis-labeled as and Obama-[insert pejorative suffix here] but that is just par for the course this primary, so I will speak anyway)
The implication behind all the "pro-Clinton" voices endlessly whining about Obama's inevitable defeat is that if Clinton hadn't squandered her huge lead, she would beat McCain.
I don't really think there is much substance to that. Yes, there are polls out there that say that Clinton beats McCain, but it is still May. November is still six months away.
While there are many like the Hortons who will never vote for a black man, there are many out there who will never vote for a woman. As well as the millions who will never vote for a Clinton.
I think the Democrats who are working so hard to defeat Obama are, just like the West Virginians, working against their own interests.
Much as it pains me, I don't Obama or Clinton will defeat McCain. Certainly not if the Democrats don't get out of the sandbox and start working together.
Why should they make clothes that make sense, when instead they can make clothes that make money?
And no company can stay in business if no one will buy their products. Do you think it is the four-year-olds buying these hundred-dollar outfits? Actually, three hundred dollars seems a lot more likely.
