Original article: How did the T get in LGBT?

What is the argument?

Politics has been referred to as "the art of the possible."

If it is possible to get rights for some, but not for all, isn't that preferable to rights for none? And won't getting rights for some make it easier to get rights for the rest?

It sucks that we have to have this argument. It sucks that it is OK to discriminate against anyone. Sex and sexual preference and gender identity should never be used as an excuse to discriminate against anyone.

It is easy for me to talk, I am a straight white male. Don't hold that against me, OK? Marriage and its benefits should go to anyone willing to make a commitment. Jobs should never be offered or withheld based on which person you want to marry, or not marry, or have sex with.

But you have to be realistic. I think there are a lot of different kinds of marriages that should be legal. Group marriages, line marriages, same sex marriages, whatever anyone can imagine that exists out of love between consenting adults. But I am not so short-sighted to insist that we get all or nothing. Taking it in little pieces is a much better way to get there than insisting on everything at once.

Aravosis is not saying any one should not get rights. He is saying you are much more likely to achieve success if you get it a piece at a time rather than insisting on getting it all at once.

Peace out, people.

Huh?

It's not enough that the rabbits are extremely difficult to understand because of their goofy voices. This time the guest is also difficult to understand because the volume is significantly lower for him than for the rabbits.

Does the creator think it would somehow be less funny if we didn't have to strain to understand what was being said?

I hope you are using protection

Setting aside any moral or ethical facets of the cheating aspect of this situation, there are serious medical concerns. The true measure of whether you are a sociopath or not is the question of how you are dealing with the health of your husband.

Are you protecting his health while you are cheating? Are you exposing him to whatever diseases your various different partners may be carrying? If you are not shielding his health, you do not love him or respect him. Much less respecting your own health.

The fact that you haven't bothered to mention this in your letter makes me fear that you are not taking precautions. Forgoing this aspect would make your actions reprehensible.

Study the crusades

The biggest agitators for liberating the Holy Land from the Saracens were arms merchants.

Military-industrial complex, anyone?

Insufficient information

It seems to me that a responsible post about this phenomenon would include some information about the actual situation. For instance, something about the reality of the panties sap the strength of the generals assertion. Is this a common superstition in this culture? Will panty proximity be enough, or will the generals actually have to come in physical contact with them? Is there any reality to the assertion that thousands of pairs of panties will seriously affect the political situation, or will it jusy make the generals more intractible?

Instead, we just get something that barely rises above snark. Nice work, ladies.

Brilliant

As much as it creeps me out to give props to some guy sitting on a toilet, this guy totally nails the whole situation.

Exactly the same

The obvious conclusion to draw is that most posters think all men and all women are exactly the same. Yup, every man is this one way, and every woman is that other way.

So let's all hate and blame each other! Problem solved!

Wow, that was easy.

Blame

Blame blame blame blame blame blame blame blame blame blame long-suffering blame blame blame blame blame blame blame.

It's certainly impossible for me to bear any of the responsibility.

Hey visitor48

Notice that the guy who replied to you (nonsensically, I might add) was cowering behind Anonymous.

So you know how much weight to give his (her?) comment.

I have NEVER cheated in a relationship

I am 45 years old. I have been married twice. I have never cheated on a spouse or girlfriend. Not only have I never had sex outside a relationship, I have never kissed or cuddled or held hands or even talked intimately to another woman besides the woman I was involved with.

So here is at least one man who has a 100 percent spotless record in the area of romantic relationships.

If it is hard for you to imagine that I exist, perhaps you should get a real job. Or at least, stop answering questions that involve fidelity.

Pronouncing Gutierrez

Yes, it should be pronounced with three syllables, gu-TIER-es.

But when Ricky Gutierrez played short for the Astros, my buddies and I all pronounced it with four syllables, gu-tee-ERRORS.

bupkis

Fan loyalty has zero to do with the size of the media market. New York and Boston have the biggest payrolls because they have the biggest media markets. They have the largest number of fans automatically included in their market. Automatically. Loyalty is irrelevant.

Nice try.

Not.

Boston's media market

Yeah, I said "Boston" when referencing the media market. But I wasn't talking about the Boston metropolitan area Boston. I was talking about the Red Sox Boston. Pretending the size of the immediate metropolitan area matters is disingenuous. Bill_H's accurate but irrelevant listing of population centers is just pointless BS. Several others of you needlessly went there too.

Bah.
