Have you considered voting for Hillary this time, Obama in the future? That would be a 'Win-Win' resolution to your dilemma. Personally, I want both, eventually. There is no doubt in my mind that Hillary is truly the one who is ready now. There is doubt in my mind that Barack is not truly ready now. You know Barack will run again. It is less likely that Hillary would.
I am a devoted Democrat, for a long time, I had the dilemma, to Obama or to Hillary?
But then it became clear. Deep in my gut, I know Hillary is the most qualified, competent candidate we have running to govern our country. Her immense knowledge, dedication, experience, her commitment, and caring - through all the attacks, all the ugly politics, the hard choices - that is what truly, deeply inspires me.
Like Maxine Waters: "I didn't just learn about 'hope' yesterday," said Maxine Waters, an African-American congresswoman from California, referring to an Obama tagline. "It is not more hope that we need - we need help, and that is why I am backing Hillary."
Hype does not impress or inspire me. And the more Barack is hyped, the less impressed and inspired I am about him. I am not looking for a good looking rock star in a music video to be the President of our country. If there's one thing we all should have learned in the last 7 years it's that speeches and rhetoric mean nothing, proven competence means everything.
I was immensely impressed by the accomplishments and success of the Clinton Administration in the 1990's, and I knew that Hillary was involved behind the scenes on many of the most important policy making decisions. She could not help but be - she is so passionate, dedicated, intelligent, so committed to our country -such a high achiever. They made mistakes, but they learned. They brought us out of a recession and into some of the greatest socio-economic prosperity this country has ever seen.
A Hillary administration would never have gone to war in Iraq. I disagreed with that vote. But she thought the threat of force was needed for Saddam to truly comply with the weapons inspections. I am sure that being the perfectionist she is, she never would have dreamed the Bush administration could in a million years have been as careless, and reckless as it has been.
All leaders, all Presidents make mistakes. An Obama administration would make mistakes too - but they would have to learn the ropes from scratch. I don't want another inexperienced President at this time.
Could you imagine a debate between McCain and Obama about who is more qualified to help our economy?
I hope you vote for Hillary. She deserves it, and she will serve this country with a dedication like no other. It is a vote you can be proud of! And you can be proud of a vote for Barack in the future. You can have both! Yes you can!
When I say future, I mean future - I don't want or need Barack in the White House now. If he would want to be Vice-President, that would be great. But, he needs more experience.
People who think that when it comes down to it, more Americans will vote for Barack in a general election are very naive. People might like him, and what he is saying now, but when it comes to the actuality - most people always choose security. If it is not "national security," it is the security of the known, tested leader, and more of the independents and centrists will vote for McCain. He is already ahead of Obama in the national polls.
Hillary is the only one who could show and prove to the country in debates with McCain that she is truly more knowledgable, qualified, and competent than he is. The country needs to see the truth - as many already do - see past all the distorted demonization of a caring, competent, and dedicated woman - and see reality - that she is truly the most qualified candidate to efficiently and effectively govern our country.
Generally speaking on blogs all over the internet, Obama supporters are much meaner and more negative toward Hillary than the other way around.
It does prove that they are the ones who really need "Hope" and "Change." I understand why it appeals to them so much - they don't have enough of it in themselves.
I live everyday with inspiration, and work for hope and change. I don't need someone else to give speeches about it for me. It's a way of life!
A lifetime of work and dedication inspire me much more than words.
Hillary truly deserves so much more respect!
I only hope that people see the truth!
