@teresa .........."Angry White Folks?"

Now there's an amusing assumption, and a racist one. But I suppose only whites can be racist, in todays society. Everyone else gets a pass. The phrase "you nuts" isn't too bad I guess, but really doesn't add anything to the conversation. Seems to me most of the anger is coming from those that think they shouldn't have to explain themselves, or their positions. Too bad.

@teresa .........."What Were They Then if the were not Angry White Folks?"

They were just angry folks, 'teresa'; nothing else. The fact that you chose to inject race into it, only shows your level of thinking on the issues. Some see every experience in life through race colored glasses. That might work on some level, especially when trying to forment civil disorder, but I think alot of folks are getting sick and tired of the race card being played every time the slightest social injustice is perceived. If I'd used the phrase "Angry black folks' , the 'racist card would be dropped on me in a heartbeat. AS for "John McCains campaign trying to get Obama assasinated".....YOU really need to tone down the rhetoric. Because your starting to sound like one of those 'nuts' you've been complaining about...........There's more than enough angry people to go round; we don't need any more.

@teresa ..........and 'Klytus'

Let's be clear, because maybe I wasn't. What I meant was, the phrase "angry white folks" would be taken as racist if I'd posted the same about ' angry black folks'. That's all; nothing more. Take it any way you want. Personally, I don't give a damn if you're white, black or have cute little purple stripes running across your forehead. ..........As for poor Klytus; he /she, is a prime example of the level of lunacy out there.................

How Dare the McCainiacs....

......bring up any legitimate issue with Barack Obama? What the hell is he thinking? Jesus! doesn't he get it? It's time to elect a new kind of, almost black president. So let's not be confusing the issue with, you know, all those inconvenient questions about stuff we don't, you know, want to deal with, 'cause that just makes all our heads hurt! And that's sooo not cool!... You go Joan baby! Girl got it goin' on! Just let us know where you and Barack are going to be honeymooning.

@canilor

If you'd like to understand the "mentality" that got us where we are economically, socially or, for that matter, any other burning issue of the day, read through all 23 mind numbing pages of this blog. Or, pick any website, republican, democrat, libertarian; it doesn't matter, and you'll find the same thread of vitriolic, sanctimonious, self centered, holier than thou crap spouted on every one of them. Everyone wants to prove themselves 'right'. Usually at the cost of any kind of civil discussion. No one wants to listen or even entertain the idea for an instant, that their views might be just a little skewed.....but....hey...I could be wrong....

The Inability to Answer a Direct Question with a straight Answer....

....without twisting and obfuscating the issue, has become the hallmark of both campaigns. This is a prime example, albeit a small one, of everything that's wrong with todays politicians.

@rubymac ......A little confusion?

Axelrod does exactly what your "tired of" by, "answering a difficult question by attacking the questioner", and you end up complementing him? For what? Showing us all he can not answer a question as well as the next guy? ..... Yeah, there is definitely something in the water out there.

@alecsmom

No, you don't get to share the profits, but as Churchill once said about socialism, you'll get to share the "misery"...enjoy!

"Vote of Confidence from the Investor Class......that the Government Should Own Wall st".

Yes, that's one view of it. One that I'd expect to hear at an all night kegger in a college dorm. Socialism is always good topic for a heated debate among the educated and cloistered. But in 'real world' Wall st, I suspect these fine investors would have taken a handout from the Four Horsmen of the Apolcalypse, right after they'd slaughtered everyone on the trading floor, if it turned a profit.

"McCains little brother throws a tantrum"

Gee wiz, little Andie B man, at least there's nothing derogatory or demeaning in your headline. Objective and fair, as usual. It's interesting though, that when a Republican "expresses his displeasure" you equate it with a "tantrum"? What's a Democrats expression of displeasure considered; a 'studied and educated critique of the issue'?

Let's Talk 'Nuclear'.....

....Or not.......Let's just ignore the fact that they're carbon neutral, save billions of gallons in oil usage and have been in use in aircraft carriers and submarines for over forty years. France produces most of their electric from nuclear plants. 'Fast breeder reactors' are another technology we choose to ignore, out of fear and political pandering. The development of these plants blocked by Reagen in the 80's, after the Saudis agreed to lower the price of oil. That's worked out well, hasn't it? Oh and, when was the last time we built a hydroelectric dam anywhere in this country? I figure the way we're going, eventually, we'll get back to the blanket and the campfire. Then, the environmentalists will be happy......till someone complains about the smoke.

@Maezeppa ......I'm just curious.....

If you think "Matthews voting for someone because of his race is stupid"; which it is, then what would you consider the over 90% of African Americans in Philly. voting for Obama over Hillary during the primary? I also wonder what percentage of African Americans nationwide are voting for Obama? It's always amusing to me that racism is only considered a 'white affliction', even by whites. Years of social conditioning will do that.

Sure, no problem you can even be President if.....

.....you look good on TV; are able to make flowery speeches that are long on inspiration and short on substance; are you able to avoid answering direct questions with clear concise answers; and have the ability to promise anything and everything to everybody and deliver nothing. In other words: Would you make a good used car salesman? If so, you've got my vote!
