"Healthcare".... You've got to be kidding!

This isn't 'health care'; it's 'sick care'. Last I checked Kennedy is still dead. Here's a guy that had money and access to the best so called 'healthcare' in the world. How'd that work out?

We live in a country where drive thru drug stores have become the norm and obesity and diabetes are skyrocketing. Even supermarkets have drug stores in them! One stop shopping for your crap food and drugs; wonderful! Apparently, no one is willing to ask a basic simple question; why? Why are conditions such as asthma; allergies; heart disease; diabetes, so prevalent in a so called 'heathy society'. Why are kids; who should be the healthiest among us, so ill? No, we seem more focused on treating the symptoms rather than the cause. I would think if the 'health' system was really working; a drive thru pharmacy would be nonexistant, and hospitals would be as quiet as libraries......No, you go ahead and "fight" for your healthcare. I'll take a pass on perpetuating this lunacy...

@homeruk

Jeese I thought I was going to make it through a whole list of the Messiahs atributes without the race card getting played.........Not so......That's one tiresome joker that needs to get taken out of the deck....Ya ever think that maybe, just maybe, some people just think his policies suck?

I thought Bush was a loser too, but I don't recall anyone whining about the poor white guy. I guess only white people are the racists in todays America.

Here's another question:

Will I get to opt out of this 'health care' nightmare altogether, or is that not one of the so called 'options'? And; will I be paying; in some form or another; (taxes /payroll) to fund a system I'm not using? ...Hmmmm, let me see; Oh yeah!...... SOCIALISM: a political and economic theory of social organization that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole. • (in Marxist theory) a transitional social state between the overthrow of capitalism and the realization of communism.........Just a little clarification for the glassy eyed Democrats....

..."This is also why "nigger" remains more offensive than cracker..... And as long as women are the second sex and African-Americans are the second race, slurs that target these groups will have greater power. ..

"Second sex"; "second race"? That's news to me. I can't even begin to address the lunacy of that assumption. But hey; if it helps you to justify feeling offended; by all means go with it. Knock yourself out....... A word has only the so called "power" you give it.....It's just a 'word'; nothing more. Being 'offended', is a choice YOU are free to make. You could simply choose NOT to be offended. Oh, but then where would that leave us? A loss of power and control over those that dare to utter such 'powerful' words in our presence. We can't have that can we?... ......Perhaps if we were to stop using that infantile PC code book of letters for the 'N' word, "F" word, 'C' word etc;, they might lose alot of that so called 'power' over those that just can't wait to be offended by something; anything; everything!

@MerelyMortalMale.........WOW!

Sounds like you've got alot of pent up anger, in there buddy; maybe it's time to get yourself into one of those "C" words and chill out a little..............You'll feel better; believe me.

It's not that rosy in the UK....

They have, and have had, ongoing race related problems like most other countries. The influx of Pakistani and Indian immigrants arriving in the late sixties and early seventies caused huge social problems. Now it's the Muslims. But it's always 'someone' isn't it? Funny how that works. Living in the north of England in the sixties as a kid, I never even met anyone that was black, until arriving in New York! How's that for isolation? I remember one Indian girl in my 5th grade class. That was it; the rest were all white...........Check out "Life on Mars" in BBC archives, to get a feel of what it was like back then. Though the accents can be a little hard to follow at times, even for me.......Mi5, was also a great series, too bad it got cancelled....

Healthcare American Style?.....LOL!!

Yeah, that would be the fat guy screaming "gimme' me my health care now!!" Ya can't make this crap up.......So, you're basically trying to expand a system that doesn't produce the desired result:......HEALTH! Your own statistics show that we're one of the unhealthiest countries in the world, not because of the number of people that are NOT covered; but because of the number that ARE!...

If you really want to revamp 'healthcare'; then you really need to define what "health" is..

I'm sure it means different things to different people. But for me, it means that I, and I alone, get to choose how I stay healthy and what modalities and treatments; if any; I'll use if the need arises. For some people healthcare means access to prescription medications; doctors and hospitals. I would suggest at that point the phrase 'sickcare', rather than 'healthcare, night be a more accurate description of the American healthcare system. Maybe we should be asking WHY we're all so damn sick!

But this really isn't about healthcare; it's about money, power and control over a population that seems all to willing to hand over personal responsibility to others.....

Case in point: Massachusetts is trying to fine people that don'thave some kind of health insurance plan. The Obama plan is floating the same stipulation; up to $3800 fine if you don't sign on. Seems more than a little draconian to me. What if you don't want; need, or believe in the governments idea of "health"?.....Some would argue that everyone needs to sign on, regardless of personal need, for the plan to be successful, likening it to car insurance. ...But guess what? Not everyone drives; or wants too. Would it be fair to make those that don't own a car, buy insurance?............I'm in favor of any government plan I'm free to opt out of without paying a fine or higher taxes.
