The "rear bar' as you put it; or ICC bumper as it's known; has been around since the sixties. It's probably the one safety feature put on trucks besides the obvious 'lights'; to help other drivers. It's secondary purpose is to prevent the brake airlines from being severed in a collision. As for "side bars", (whatever they are), "sprayless mudflaps" and electronic tracking of driver behavior ; all are optional and not required at all. Fleets might choose to install them for insurance and PR purposes; just like anti jackknifing devices; but it's their call. Having been in the transportation business for over thirty years I can say there's very little on the modern truck that is designed to protect other drivers. Because in the real world, those 'other drivers' have safety features on their vehicles designed to protect them also.
I guess being asked a simple question three times and dancing around the answer until the clock runs out, is considered "great work", in todays bizzaro political world. Try watching the whole discussion; O'Reilly got a little too loud and emotional for my tastes; but Joan was clearly unprepared, and looked like a deer caught in the headlights. She claims MSNBC pays her nothing for appearing; now we know why..
To bad his retirement parameters aren't contingent upon his ability to tell the truth; take responsibilty for ones actions and doing what's best for the country rather than the party.....We'd probably get rid of 90% of Congress right along with him.
Ms. Walsh, like every politician; responded to questions that were never asked. He didn't ask her if it was "the hardest issue in the abortion debate" or if she "believes the law should be what it is" ...Can you honestly say that those words answer the question of whether 'late term fetuses should have any protection'? More verbal misdirection from another talking head.. I'm getting a little tired of peoples inability to answer direct questions without trying to obfsucate the issues. Listen closely to any politician and you'll see this kind of verbal misdirection has become an accepted form of communication.
...Well, the last I heard it's been officially renamed the "overseas contingency operations". No I'm not making it up. The "War on Terror" is no longer used., 'cause I guess it might make us feel really bad and maybe make us cry. Evidently, these days if we don't like an operation, it's just simpler to rename it and pretend it's something different..........I feel so much better..........
.....It's amazing how three simple words can so clearly demonstrate, the arrogance and stupidity of man.
Yes there is a reason; I believe you stated it yourself..........Gee, now what was that phrase again? Oh yeah; "a handpicked crowd" ............What a moronic electorate we're becoming.. Nice infomercial though. I was little disappointed that no one asked him his favourite color. I'm betting it's green.
A little 'cut and paste' and we can use this quote over and over again for both parties, and the sheep that keep electing them...LOL...
......With out a shadow of a doubt; after reading these posts........both parties..
The country is going to hell in a handbasket. The government is spending us into oblivion, and the media along with the average American idiot, is focused on Sanford; Michael Jackson, and Kate and Jon plus 8. Hell, not only focusing on it; but begging for more! .......... I Guess we really do get the government we deserve. Too bad we've circumvented Darwinism and the morons have survived. ............. Time to start pulling airbags out of cars..
Of all the real news stories taking place right now, this is the primo crap that passed the smell test?...amazing!
Oh, that easy........When you're DEAD! ....Get serious; go to www.guitarprinciples.com. learn how to practice and enjoy.........
So the actual "detention" was illegal also? Or is that a 'pre- judgment' handed down from the 'Walsh court' of opinion to bolster the argument? What exactly would you do with these people caught on the battlefield; let them go? I guess in your world prosecutions should only move forward if 'public opinion' supports it at the time. In mine it goes something like this: If you've broken the law you should be prosecuted regardless of the political climate. If not; it's time to move on..
....Sorry, the vision of someone getting a little water up his nose, really doesn't rise to the level of "torture' in my view. I've had worse days at the beach. The under tow at Fire Island can be a real bitch on some days . Then again, my views are tempered with the memory of 3000 people crushed and burned to death in collapsing buildings; and the smell of death filling the streets for months... Go figure.
Did you mean a whole 30 seconds? Wow, if I'd known that I'd be outraged.! I assumed it was closer to 28 seconds. Waterboarding is the only form of "torture" I've seen reporters actually volunteer for. You figure it out; or get help....... @ Filthy Harry..."What does 9/11 have to do with it? You've absolutely no way of knowing that the people we've tortured have anything to do with 9/11."................No, and neither do you. But asking nicely isn't always an option, in an ongoing unfolding event, where time is a consideration.
....I'm still waiting for an answer on the question of what to do with these "illegally detained" pillars of the community. But Salonistas have a habit of ignoring inconvenient questions they're unable answer. Far better to redirect the conversation to a past event that happened to a handful, rather than address a question relevent to the present.......
