Repeat a lie often enough...........

......" I think it's worth weighing in because there's been an uptick in speculation that there are photos -- even video -- of sexual abuse of detainees out there, and War Room played a large, if inadvertent, role."................So, now you're reporting on the very speculation you're critical of; just like the rest of the blog-o-bots out there. We used to call it 'gossip', but it was limited to the number of phone calls one could make.....Now in todays higher tech world, even an idiots unfounded speculation can appear to have an air of veracity, when repeated enough times.........Have you read some of Salon's Posts? They invariably start off with the phrase "I've heard that......." or "this report says" ; with a link to a website and article some wingnut set up inbetween treatments at the local clinic.....Journalism? Yeah; right....

Poor "Strangley Enough"..........an appropriate moniker; BTW

You just can't conceive of, or tolerate a different point of view without falling back on personal attacks, can you?....What a narrow, self limiting little world you must live in. There'll be no further comment from me on any of your intellectually lazy responses..............

...............@danb..Thanks for the heads up on the Taguba report; I'll be sure to check it out.

Well, I read Taguba's report right here at Salon....

....I guess Salon is a reputable source, correct?...........Hmmm, the sound of crickets. The drones must be speechless. Or the spin machine is broken...

Original article: Incorporate this!

The Sad Fact Is.....

......This administration has wasted billions in taxpayer dollars propping up GM, knowing all along that is was heading for bankkruptcy. Now we're going to continue the madness with a 'structured reorganizing'; with the aim of bringng the company back to profitability, under government direction? Since when has the government run anything profitably? Amtrak is a disaster; the Post office is broke; S.S; Medicare /'caid'; etc are all in the toilet, yet the Coolaid drinkers figure this is a good idea. ......"Too big to fail"? What a moronic phrase that is. Nothing is too big to fail. And a company that's taking taxpayer money and not turning a profit is a welfare recipient, not a viable business. The bottom line is, no one is buying these cars, in sufficient enough numbers to keep them afloat. No amount of government intervention is going to change that; unless we decide to ban all imports of foreign cars, and force Americans to buy the governmentt version of the "peoples VW'. .........My next car will be a Toyota...

......."read my lips"...... redux.....LOL!

........."Such tax increases won't slow down the economy because the wealthy don't spend that much anyway (that's what it means to be wealthy -- you've already got most of what you need),

..........I'd love to know how you arrived at that assertion; crystal ball? Coin toss? What does Warren Buffet spend, Steve Jobs; Bill Gates; President Obama?......Lunch money? Ya gotta love this class warfare stuff; it's always good for a laugh. BTW: What's your net worth Mr Reich?

"He's done more in his first 100 days than any other President" and on and on...

I agree he has........And we'll be paying for it for a long time to come, so get out your wallets, and feel good about it!....... I find it highly amusing that the glassy eyed folks that jumped on the 'feel good campaign bus' are now somehow dismayed that their assumptions about this guy were a little off base. When you run a campaign based on feelings rather than facts; this what you get; no surprise here. Feelings are transitory in nature; fleeting. Facts seem to have a tendency to hold up a little longer until 'other truths' replace them. Next time try asking a few hard questions instead of applauding like a bunch of trained seals in a circus......

I really don't see what the problem is; uncomfortable semantics?

We accepted that the word 'is' could mean any convoluted meaning we wanted it too. 'Global Warming' has now become 'climate change'. ' Taxes' are now 'contributions'. 'Abortion' is 'planned parenthood'. The 'War on terror' is now ' the overseas contingency operations'. What's a little 'intense interogation'? Is it as bad as sweating too much in a sauna? Why don't we just call them 'inappropriate interviews" and promise not to do it again? ........This is what you get when socially 'acceptable' phrases are created in order to dilute the meaning of language and action, into feel good drivel to be fed to the media. .....

"Are the Obamas setting an unrealistic standard for marriage?"

I didn't realize they were setting marriage standards at all. I must have missed the memo.

The idea that a few photo ops. convey the state of a marriage is weak at best. Every marriage is unique, and to pass judgments on those that don't fit into your cookie cutter image of what they should be reveals more about you Amanda, than you realize... ....BTW, I'll set my own marriage standards; thank you very much; NOT someone else....

"The idea that the GOP can win the 40 seats seems very far-fetched right now"....Oookay...

.....And the idea of an African American president seemed far- fetched a year ago. ...Time has a way of dulling the memory, and once Americans get a more practical, less emotional view, of this President and his administration and begin to realize the monetary cost for all this "change"; the GOP probably has a pretty good shot at a comeback. Too bad; we need politicians more interested in what's good for the country; and less in their respective party affiliations.

Original article: Auto safety for dummies

"A vehicle's safety should be viewed not only in terms of how it protects its own occupants, but how likely it is to maim or kill others in a crash.

Who came up with that little nugget of guilt filled wisdom? If we subscribe to that idea, then every tractor trailer on the road would be considered the equivalent of Charles Manson on crack. This sounds like another lame attempt at social engineering. If Obama is so serious about alternative energy sources for tranportatiion; why did he veto funding for hydrogen research?......Meanwhile the speculators drive up the price of oil and this administration. like the last one; sits on it's hands........... What a joke!
