Original article: Hail to the chief

Aw, c'mon Omar; you can do better than that!

How about: 'Lost Horizons, 'Over the Horizon or 'Trouble on the Horizon'....Put a little effort into it! Ya gotta put some zing in those zingers!

Original article: Hail to the chief

@Omar.... Well said once again; and as always; so eloquent~

A quick brain numbing scan of your other posts reveals you're light on substance and reasoning and heavy with the nasty diatribe.. Perhaps a little therapy might be in order, or in the very least; a couple of anger management classes......Consider it.......I don't post here to win an argument or prove a point at the expense of someone else. I'm interested in putting my opinion out there, and reading what others think in return.....Nothing more. They don't have to agree with my views; nor I theirs. This isn't a contest..

"shouldn't have been fired?" .....can you say "double standard"?'

I find it amazing that the media barely covers this guy; yet Don Imus's stupid off hand comment, was enough send us all into a self righteouse month-long feeding frenzy. Evidently, the failings and biases of Churchill; a professor in a position of actually 'teaching' our kids; pale in comparison to the idiocy of a morning radio shock jock.

Hey! we've already 'invested 12.8 trill. in taxpayer loans"?

I'll just stand here by my mailbox and wait for that fat dividend check.....Thanks David, I thought I was broke!

Here's another idea...

So here's a 'green' industry that probably won't survive without subsidies and heavy investment into the power grid infrastructure. It would seem to me to be more fiscally sound to build nuclear power plants where coal plants now exist, thereby cutting down on the need to install excess power lines that would have to go to where the windmills are. Usually inconveniently placed on top of a mountain. There are ten mountain top wind turbines close to where I live; and guess what...they don't turn when the wind isn't blowing. It's amazing how we ignore a proven technology right under our noses, because of irrational fear and ignorence. The French must think we're crazy...

Original article: "The Glenn Beck Apocalypse"

Did ya hear the one about.....

.....Glen Beck debating Al gore and a polar bear on an ice floe? The polar bear got depressed; ate both of them, then commited suicide..

So what's new?

This is basically the same recycled report we get every time political parties change in the Whitehouse. Only the names have been changed to implicate the desired 'group'. We certainly love to pander in fear and paranioa.,........."right wing extremism" is about as relevent a phrase as 'activist judge'.

This is so very amusing; and painfully indicative of the national psyche

The idea that having enough money is 'good'; but having 'too much' is bad; is the contradictory message most of us have been taught since grade school. Phrases such as "money is the root of all evil" and "filthy rich", only add to the collective guilt. Most of this stems from the view that somehow there are limited resources; or the inherent belief that someone, somewhere, must go 'without' so that I can have more. I don't think if Bill Gates and Warren Buffet gave away everything they own tomorrow, that I'll somehow pick up a bigger paycheck at the end of the week. ......So revel in the guilt if you choose. Or, enjoy life and be thankful for what you have. .....................That's a decision you're free to make.....

Original article: Is torture really over?

@cossackathon...........reading some of these posts is 'torture'...

I've got 29,000 reasons...would you like their names and pictures to hang on the wall? I'm sure we can find a few...Or would it get a little too 'real' at that point; and beyond this detached academic exercise? ............

Original article: Joe Barton strikes again

So Al says....

...."I believe that you have relied on people you have trusted, who have given you bad information."....But somehow Gore's 'trusted' sources for his information are all beyond reproach? Does he know any of Barton's sources? Doubtful. And, how about answering the carbon credit question. You weren't asked what you thought about Barton's sources...I know it's really hot, but try to focus

It's good to see class envy is alive and well..

Yeah, that's right; "lop off their heads"; make the "wealthy pay"; "go after the government"; go nail those bastards on Wall Street. Tax everybody but me, to death! That must be the reason I'm still cranking out 8 bucks an hour at Burger King. Capitalism ain't workin' for me! They owe me my 'fair share' of whatever I've decided they're not 'entitled too"...! I know when the dust settles and the last of them are in jail, or dead; I'll have my Malibu ocean view and a Porsche in the garage.....................Pathetic, sad whining hypocrites!

@JeanetteD & freelyb

I'm not against investigating or prosecuting any wrongdoing. What I take issue with, is the idea being being proffered by the media, that most of our corporations and 'rich people' have somehow made their money by screwing the rest of us. Or that making 'too much money' is somehow bad. It's a notion based on class envy and entitlement, that plays well with folks working their butts off to make a living. Yes, I'm one of those working people too. But I'm not quick to blame others for my lack of financial standing in life. Hence we have terms being tossed around such as 'ill gotten gains', and 'windfall profits', and we'll make the rich pay their 'fair share'; whatever that is. "Fair" being, a tax or 'contribution', I don't have to pay. We need to be careful what we wish for. The system is far from perfect, but it's worked pretty well for a few hundred year. Lets not throw the baby out with the bathwater, just because there are some gaming the system in a criminal way. ...........Oh, and I have no 'problem' with women, but thanks for the armchair psychoanalysis. It's always amusing to read a totaly off base take on who I am..
