Cut out the middle man

Why doesn't Gates just give his money directly to Wal-Mart and cut out the middle man? In the end Wal-Mart will get it anyway.

OBL and Bush

I suspect, that many years hence, we will find that OBL was actually and employee of the Republican Party. We will find pay stubs for checks that OBL cashed at the Bank of Bora Bora. It is rather curious that Bush seems to be protecting Bin Ladin. There were many opportunities to take him out, and they were always botched. The only winner of 9/11 was the Republican party, and this indicates that there is no desire to eliminate him. Imagine, what would Republican do with Bin Ladin gone? They will have to hatch another plot. Imagine, if laziness is the trademark of the Bush administration, how much work it would take to create another plot. It is much easier to have OBL live. His being alive is much more useful than his being dead.

I expect Obama to be arrested in the next few days

Do you really expect someone who threatens to investigate Bush administration to walk free? I think you are in the wrong country. Torture was supposed to be illegal here too.

Low tv ratings and loss of readership

The MSM keep complaining that they are losing viewers and readers, and I guess there is justice after all. Who would want to watch or read anything that treats its audience like a bunch of idiots that the MSM has turned the country into? So you can say that if they go out of business they have themselves to blame, they absolutely earned it. The press is its own biggest enemy. But what surprises me is that the advertisers have not exerted pressure on the media to change, to increase their audience. This goes to show that the advertisers are just as stupid as the owners of the media. Is it possible that just maybe we are smarter than they think we are, after all?

MSM are nothing more than an arm of the Republican Party

Why not do a story about who masterminded the takeover of the media for the Republican party. Pres. Clinton had an opportunity to breakup the cabal of the press, military establishment and intelligence, but to his discredit he did not nothing. Obviously, Stalin knew something about these things. He would just have them shot. Obviously, we cannot deal with these people in the same way, but nevertheless a way must be found to uproot, or at least prune them, before they do too much damage. Today, you have Democratic party at a huge disadvantage in this, or any other, election. They are unable to get their message out to be heard in a positive manner, or just to even be heard at all without the inanity of the petty nonsense. And that is really the plan. Keep them occupied with answering questions about nonsense, so no substantive issues can be dealt with. And even if a Democratic president will be elected, Republican plants within the bureaucracy of the government are future obstacles to Democratic implementation of their programs.

Democrats have got to come up with a way to re-balance the relationship with the press. In debates, candidates could refuse to answer inane questions, or go after the moderators, if they can even be shamed. Or go over the questions to be asked at the debate before they are asked, since the questions being asked are meant to entrap them.

Globalization bites Microsoft

Having outsourced most of its work overseas, globalization finally bites. Having drained money out of U.S. economy, Microsoft faces lower sales and prospect of lower prices in the U.S.. I think this is just the tip of the iceberg, wait for other companies to follow.I guess they thought the fun will never end.

Microsoft

Ikuiku

If computer business is a mature business, how do you explain Apple's rising sales? And how many of Microsoft's jobs in the U.S. are H1B visas? And if Microsoft is unable to find talent in the U.S. it is because they are unwilling to pay competitive salaries, so they are importing cheap labor.

What should Obama do?

I am sick and tired of listening to Obama and Wright nonsense.

The only way to solve it is for Obama to begin attacking McCain by linking him to Hagee. Democratic party or Obama should start running advertising linking the two. Democrats have got to change the subject. Otherwise there is no escape. Go on tv shows, and whenever the question arises change the subject to McCain and Hagee.

Media concentration

Glenn:

I think the reason for the situation we have to today is that the media have become so concentrated that distribution of the message has become easy to control.

The only way Democrats will be able to get their message out is to wrest the control (or to at least diversify ownership) of the MSM away from the Republican control. And I would say this is something they will have to do as soon as they take control of the government. Or else GOP will make their lives miserable, just as they did during the Clinton administration.

Flawed business model

The problem with airline ticket prices is that they are not calculated on the basis of actual cost of providing the service, but on competition. Therefore, if an airline flying to a certain destination is the only one going there, the price of the ticket becomes exorbitant. However, when the airlines for passengers to a location, tickets are mispriced on the low end. Therefore, the airlines are doomed to bankruptcy. Let the airlines start pricing their tickets on the basis of what it actually costs them to operate. And the only way this will work is if we go back to regulation. Before all the airlines price themselves out of existence. All those who want competition should stop complaining about lousy service and flight conditions.
