Unions are one of the reasons US car makers are in such dire straits. The workers are overpaid and build products that of poor quality. Unions keep poor performers on the line who don't have to worry about getting fired because the Union will raise such a stink it isn't worth the trouble. Unions have outlived there usefullness and exist in to support corrupt union bosses and to hold manufacturers and other industries hostage. Unions are also cash cows for Democratic politicians. Perhaps if the workers in the UAW wake up they will realize that they are going to lose the their jobs partially due to Union policies. And yes the board of directors and the CEOs also have much to answer for. Since they build gas guzzlers, that are overpriced and hardly worth the money. None of the so called foreign car manufacturers are asking to be bailed out. I wonder why
As a SEAL bound for Vietnam back in the day I spent a few days at SERE school (Survival, Evasion, Resistance Evasion)at Warner Springs CA. It sucked to say the least but not nearly as bad as SEAL training. I was lucky enough to be the most junior enlisted man in the large group of "prisoners". That made me the whipping boy or in my case the guy who got the waterboard treatment. I spent quite a bit of time beign waterboarded.I passed out a few times. It sort of feels like being drowned on land. It was unpleasant but as you can tell I did not die since I am writing this. I would not say it was torture. It was rough persuasion. Torture is pulling out finger nails, having your shoulders dislocated etc. I had friend who was there and he had his moustache pulled out hair by hair. That isn't torture either.
A phobia is an unreasonable fear of someone or something. I don't think that very many people are unreasonably afraid of homosexuals. They may not like them or approve of their behavior but they are certainly not afraid of them. Most of us are ambivalent about Homosexuality. Yes and some just hate them. We are not afraid of them. By the way why do homosexuals differentiate between male and female homosexuals by using PC terms like gay and lesbian? Why isn't homosexual good enough?
I hope that this in not true. The Navy does not need this. We have enough trouble with "gay" jokes already. I come from a Navy family, I was in the Navy SEALs, both of my son's were in the Navy, one a SEAL the other an Aviation Ordnanceman on the Enterprise. My dad and all of my uncles were in the Navy. Has it really come to this? Can we get a transgendered secretary of the Army too?
