WHites have helped inner city minorities for generations, Alizoom, and you can't write off ALL WHITES because some priviledged ones are spouting off here. I've known dedicated white men and women (priests, nuns, religious and secular, social workers, teachers, etc) who listen and fight for inner city blacks. Most of them were NOT Republican. </>

And Blacks have helped themselves for many generations, domini. My people invented the civil rights movement, not white liberals. And yeah, I know about the half-deozen dead and white civil rights works. Pales in comparison to the thousands of blacks that were killed during Jum Crow. The white deaths were "unexpected", "shocking", and a "great injustice". Black deaths meant that is "Tuesday". I don't write off all whites, I just ain't giving them an extra load of "thank you" for correcting inssuferable wrongs done to my people that they benefited from on every social level. What, you want a cookie for saying "oooh, I guess we shouldn't be lynching niggers!"</>

The Black Civil Rights movement did not become legitimized when White Liberal eyes gazed upon it on their TV sets. The begs right into the arguement that black folks need "saving" by, and form, white folks. We don't.

White liberals use incidiary language when speaking to, and about blacks. Case inpoint: Hillary Clinton and her ebonics-delivered speech and the sprinkling to the word "plantation". "And y'all know what I'm talkin' 'bout!". Give me a fuckin' break already. I'm sick of the bloody shirt of racism constantly waved in my face from so-called white liberals. Is that all they have to offer? I don't need them picking the trees that I shit under. How about we (blacks) tell you (whites) what we need, and then you give us just THAT. And then leave us alone, politically speaking of course. You know, like you do socially, emotionally, intellectually. Just like the way most who have nice not-for-profit jobs "advocating for inner-city blacks", and at the end of the day return to their segregated communities and on the weekends socialize in segregated social settings.

Shame, I've known and know of decent, justice-minded Republicans. I've gotten more jobs and more promotions and economic opportunity from white Republicans than I have from white liberals. I've known a lot of rabidly conservative Republicans go into the worst part of the inner city and spend hours teaching and tutoring black kids; giving black teenagers after-school jobs and internships at their companies. I also have had the experience (very recently) of being called "stupid" by "compassionate white liberals" because I have no use for them, and I tell them to take care of their communities, preach and change the mindset of their communities. Malcolm X told white folks to go "and speak to (your white) friends and neighbors", a belief I share. If that made Malcolm X a racist then I'm honored to be YOUR black "racist".

To stereotype all Republicans as "racist, evil-minded" is just as destructive as classifying all white liberals as the "saviors of the black race". And I'm betting most of those whites that you know fighting for "inner city blacks" aren't fighting for what really matters: education and economic oppotunity - this is what we need; the same as middle-class white America.

It is 2007 and what Blacks folks don't need is a cleaner ghetto.

White women have the protection of every law on the book and the loving bosom of their fathers, brothers, husbands, and communities. You really don't need me little ol' me on board your bandwagon. If you're that insecure, write your congressman/woman, talk to your shrink, get some pills from your physician, debate your teachers in college classrooms. And then thank your God that you have those resources, and can even take them for granted. The rest of us cannot take anything for granted.

Clarification: when I say I have no use for white liberals, I mean their Politics. My inner-world is quite racially, religiously, soicalluy and politically diverse. I live in a neighborhood so diverse that there is no dominant ractial or ethnic group. I had to carefully look as I wanted my daughter to know and experience everyone.

Oh, and the Anti-Choice folks did not invent "Abortion as Black Genocide" argument. Black Identity groups, including the Panthers and to this day almost all of the black Christian denominations take this stance. The Anti-Choice folks are acting upon it.

As on the up-posters pointed out, the Anti-Choice groups have food, clothing, parenting classes. The Pro-Choicers got nothing but referrals to abortion clinics. Just a phone number and maybe a ride; no interaction with the woman and her more permanent economic and social issues whatsoever.

So who do you think's going to win this battle - the group that seems sincere and willing to help me in my plight, or the folks with a clinic phone number ona business card? I'll still be poor, I'll still have to deal with an underserved on every level community, I'll still have shit-for-schhols, I'll still have no job opportunities. But at least that white lady on her way to catch her commuter train to her nice, clean 'hood virulently believes in my "right to choose".

Tim for white progressive to just admit that they don't have much to offer the black community. And thanks for your "help" in the old struggle, but Black folks fon't owe you shit, including political loyalty.
