  • My condolences yes,

but as some have pointed out in other posts, mass killings are a daily occurrence in Iraq. Many figureheads from countries are offering their condolences/sympathies and showing support. I know the BBC is devoting quite a bit of time to this story. My question is this: When approx. 30 civilians die each day in Iraq, why does that not warrant substantial press time or the outpouring of sympathy from other countries?

I am also not looking forward to any of the racist targeted attacks (e.g. 9/11) that will surely follow given the identification of the killer.

  • Can't imagine this would ever happen

When our current administration and other ruling elite (both Democrats and Republicans) solve problems with violence. You know, the stuff we do to OTHER countries, like bomb them into oblivion.

Dubya has the blood of innocent Iraqis and Americans all over his hands and it boggles his mind that events like these happen ???? I guess it's different when it happens on our soil... or when it doesn't happen to mostly poor people.

Every time someone commits a massive violent act (mentally ill or not) we need to start pointing our fingers at our so called "role models" because their violent policies are insane and have thorougly permeated our culture. So until we start questioning those who are in charge and stop blaming each other, we can expect this to happen over and over again.

  • Democrat: The Other corporate party

Hmmm, who is responsible for getting Repugnants out of numerous Congressional and Senatorial seats??? Oh I don't know, could it actually be those who voted?

However, I'm actually beginning to wonder why I even took my ass to the polls and pulled levers for the current majority. They've done shit. As long as Democrats make no attempt to end US occupation and empire overseas (so that they can continue to fatten their wallets) I will pull a lever or push a button on a screen for third party contenders from now on. And for those of you out there (Democrats especially) who scorn Ralph Nader voters... Fuck you and your mediocrity. This is what we get: A two-party ruling elite system which serves corporate interests only... and the corporate media who love them.

Rahm, Howard? Who gives a shit? If they are the supposed agents of change, then the Democratic party is in sad, sad shape. Just ask people from Chicago, or residents of Vermont during the Dean Governor days. Dean drove a SUV bigger than some shacks.

  • Stop relying on Democrats to do anything

Ms. Walsh's apologies for the Democratic Party don't suprise me. Maybe she's got some stock in Halliburton or something. Hmmm, why hasn't the corporate media (stop calling it mainstream, folks!) done an expose on politicians owning stocks in war profiteering corporations or their subsidiaries? If it has been done, even by an alternative media outlet, please let me know.

I agree with the other posters that third party is the way to go. While Republicans aren't trying to fool anyone on who they truly represent (corporate interests) the Democrats are more two-faced and slimy about it. People's party??? Puh leez. Americans have been duped by this two-party system for far too long. Remember the 2000 election? Doesn't the Democratic complaint that Ralph Nader took votes away make you feel even slightly degraded?

Someone really should propose legislation instituting a draft. Then Americans will really feel the sting and get off their fat asses to do something about this war.

My point is this: next time you have to go to the polls think long and hard about your "choices".

Take a long, hard look at Edwards position on this war. You may not like what you find out. It's easy for him to be "against the war" while he can't vote and isn't in "power".

Don't you remember the Democrats calling for an end to this war in 2006?

This horse race shit is boooring. Edwards, Obama, Clinton. Just more of the same ol' shit.

  • Maybe

These "weak-kneed" Democrats are profiting from this war. We know Republicans are.

Choices, we need choices... Not this two-party system posing as a Democracy. The faster this government crumbles, the better.

    Vast corporate, fascist wasteland indeed.

Rise up people. Turn off the TV and READ yo! That is, if we have enough time and energy to muster after we get home from our meaningless jobs. Unfortunately, we will continue to be wage slaves until we realize who our real enemies are and take action.

  • I Blame the Patriarchy

    For people like linney uston.

linney, please name all those women-only mentoring programs, special programs to empower girls, all those special laws to prevent violence against women and no one else. That should provide your day with about a minute's worth of research. You are clearly uneducated my friend. What, do you hate yourself that much that you must find all the ways women and those "special laws" are out to get you? Even if all those special laws exist, I bet people like you tried twice as hard to block their passage.

Now I know what happened to the ignorant, fat frat "misrepresented" boy in Borat.

"I can identify dozens women's only mentoring programs"

Be my guest, start identifying. My point is this: We indeed live in a patriarchy. I don't care if you believe it or not. it's clear your mind is made up but I ask you this, who has waged ALL wars, caused more destruction to innocent civilians, the environment, committed more violent acts, etc.? Are there more male leaders of countries (another invention of patriarchy)than female leaders? Are you seriously saying that women-only empowerment programs are more destructive to your existence?

Who's trying to shout out whom? It's called debate, chump. oh no, men never prove themselves to be liars or fabricators. idiot. keep dreaming "loon". Are you so sure of yourself that women want to join "your" sausage parties?
