Couldn't agree with you more!
[Read the article: The sexiest man living!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Ah.... some picks for the thinking woman. Bravo! Funny who we REALLY think are sexy, no? Like Prison Break's Wentworth Miller - a sexy dude in his own right - word has it that his dream woman is Charlotte Rampling. Ya gotta love that. (Thank you, Wentworth!) And really, I don't know too many men who don't pant for Cate Blanchett. God bless them as well.
The common trait that all sexy people seem to share is confidence. It really doesn't seem matter just how you look if you have a bit of that. (Okay, making us laugh doesn't seem to hurt either...)
I'm pretty much in agreement with your list - you're right about George Clooney. While he certainly makes us swoon, he's really kind of obvious. I'm particularly delighted with the inclusion of Philip Seymour Hoffman, the ultimate sexy underdog. I used to see him around the west village when I lived in NYC and regardless of the situation, he always looked very sexy (rumpled and confused, usually - but CONFIDENTLY rumpled and confused...).
It all makes me wish I still had a locker to hang some pictures in...

It's not only rock'n'roll (and we don't necessarily like it)...
[Read the article: Dixie Chicks win, Grammys lay an egg]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The reality of the Grammys has always been that unlike the Academy Awards or the Emmys, what you have here are a bunch of musicians - not actors - and this can make for a very boring show. Very few musicians are good in front of a camera (or even an audience, it might seem) if they're not performing their art or at least speaking their own words. In my 18 years experience working in the music industry, I came across very few recording artists who really had it together as all-around performers and of course they were at their best when it was their own material they were performing (spontaneous; from the hip...). Bare Naked Ladies, Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters and Dave Matthews were/are some of the funniest people I have ever had the pleasure of working with - naughty, bratty and rather rock'n'roll. And your point about the record company "make it happen" attitude is bang-on - like everything else in N.America, politics decides the winners. If we gave some of these artists the opportunity to walk out on stage and do whatever the hell they wanted, it might be a more fun, magical show. We could learn something from the Brits (well perhaps except James Blunt...) who it seem turn every event into a party where you never know what might happen. We might not always agree with their politics but ripping up a photo of the Pope (thank you, Sinead), is pretty damned rock'n'roll.
