Original article: When Democrats collapse

Whimpy The Demo

Well said ! The humor and facts combined to make a good point. I think we need some radical democrats, people who will STAND UP AND FIGHT for what is needed. Not back down and grovel in fear of public opinion.

If the war bill was not passed what would happen ? no money for the war ? and so what ! do you think the military would just tell everyone "OK now we can't pay you so please go home."

Please don't call me a democrat any more. I am not that kind of chicken shit.

dolphin noise

Hey Charlie -

We want tuna that taste good, not tuna with good taste !

PS you might want to play some background music that includes

real dolphin sounds. Might get the hint.

letters you receive

Thanks for sharing those emails / letters. Suddenly I understand

why we have so many many problems in the world.

I hope you get paid a lot of money for your work, cause surely you

have a lot of it to do.

From hence forth I will always be wondering which of my fellow

passengers many have written some of those letters. The good news is I will no longer fear the flight, but rather those whom I share the plane ride with.

Boylan email

Geez, was this guy drunk when he sent the email ? can you see him sweating bullets and praying for that magic "unsend" key ?

Something must of slipped....he could of just sent that email from ya know, gmail or yahoo or some non .mil account fer crying out loud.

Boylan - here is a clue

1. Don't tease an angry dog

2. Don't tease a liberal blog

Glenn - congrads on the boon of this snafu, make the most of it as the entire thing provides most useful information.

Sincerely,

potterbigdog

Original article: Ask the pilot

you can lead a horse to water but can't make him THINK.

"You're supposed to be in uniform, technically," he says. "But it doesn't make any sense, I know." He shrugs and shakes his head. "Look, this is the government. You're dealing with the government."

yes and sadly the same type who fills the secret databases with the same

kind of flawed information. Who knows ? after you left that employee may have just made an entry on you, out of spite. Especially if after you left his supervisor chastised him for his action. We don't know and that is the point, we are not "allowed" to know in the name of security.

Or perhaps the next time you won't be as lucky. imagine if the supervisor was of the same ilk - you might of had a very unpleasant interview. What recourse would you have ? well read the patriot act II carefully and I think you will find you have none, even to the point of detention.

From your cold dead hands

So ? Obama has done many turn arounds, from FISA to off shore drilling. Expect nothing less of him. Your great savor is in the end a man buying

his way to the top. Once there I predict the same old same old.

Hot Sauce

It's guys like this that make it so much harder for the rest of us. If your "man" were a man he would get snipped. As I understand it this is now reversible so when needed the love juice can flow.

I think your boy (not man) friend likes to play with his own spunk. If you object then get out. Of course for his next birthday be sure to get him an entire collection of hot sauce from around the world.

Original article: Is torture really over?

Is torture really over ?

Of course the people who actually committed these acts must be held responsible as well as those issuing the orders. All these acts were clearly illegal and anyone except a stone cold psychotic would know this.

Obama is a centrist and as such showed this in his statement. A little for you and a little for you. However this is not enough to show the world that we are ready to take our place at the table as grown ups and not the child who never got over hurting small harmless animals.

A reall crock of crooked if you ask me

the point being he used the same service that he had other people arrested for. Get it ? So if he wants to use a hooker that is OK but it is not OK for others to do the same. Talk about abuse of power.

Did any of you people actually read the article ?

http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2009/06/02/suppressed_photos/index.html

from Glenn Greenwald:

The White House is actively supporting a new bill jointly sponsored by Sens. Lindsey Graham and Joe Lieberman -- called The Detainee Photographic Records Protection Act of 2009 -- that literally has no purpose other than to allow the government to suppress any "photograph taken between September 11, 2001 and January 22, 2009 relating to the treatment of individuals engaged, captured, or detained after September 11, 2001, by the Armed Forces of the United States in operations outside of the United States." As long as the Defense Secretary certifies -- with no review possible -- that disclosure would "endanger" American citizens or our troops, then the photographs can be suppressed even if FOIA requires disclosure. The certification lasts 3 years and can be renewed indefinitely. The Senate passed the bill as an amendment last week.

So the court is giving the administration thirty days to get this law enacted.
