Yup, just as I thought. I'm a "Neo-Con."
Sure I've been a fundraiser for democrats for 15 years. Sure I marched in numerous anti-war marches. Sure I attended the first Daily Kos and have had 15 or so of my diaries hit the recommend list.
If I defend Israel or point out that there are anti-Semites on the left, then I'm a "Neo-Con."
Pretty much sums it up.
A main thrust of his argument is that people here are denying that anti-Semitism exists -- an obviously false claim that he has presented zero proof of after being asked numerous times.
Oh right, it's "obviously false." Because, well, you keep saying that.
You keep saying charges of anti-Semitism are ruses used to stifle debate.
Then I point out you're saying charges of anti-Semitism are ruses, which clearly and unambigiously means you don't feel charges of anti-Semitism are legitimate.
You know. ruse = not legitimate.
It's like I'm arguing with a giant blind spot.
You can't have it both ways, bro. Either anti-Semitism exists on the left as part of criticisms of Israel, Lieberman and "hidden Jewish financiers controlling the republican party" stories, or it doesn't.
You say it doesn't.
Ergo, the charges of anti-Semitism are false. They are ruses meant to stifle debate and hide agenda on the parts of Neo-Con Jews.
Right?
You know this is your argument.
You are therefore making a clear and unambigious argement that the charges of anti-Semitism are not legitimate when criticising Israel, Lieberman, AIPAC, the "Jewish Neo-Cons, etc.
I keep stating both are possible. Legit criticisms AND anti-Semitic narratives that should be exposed for what they are.
Your response? "It's an obviously false claim."
Obviously.
Or not.
You forgot to call me "incoherent" or "illogical" or simply question my motives or honesty. Or just call me a shit-head.
But in the end, the notion that there are not anti-Semitic narratives at work in some of the criticisms is the central argument you're making.
I don't know how to make what you're arguing any clearer. Anti-Semitism does exist in some of the slams on Joe Lieberman. I hate the guy for his sanctimonious lies and fake democrat positioning.
But it isn't hard to see when the "Lieberman is working for Israel" stories fire up the age-old narratives.
Actually strike that. It is hard to see for people like you. As you continue to argue, criticism of Lieberman isn't anti-Semitic, and anyone who says it is is stifling debate.
Ergo, you are denying anti-Semitism is at work in some of the discourse.
bethincary proves everything I'm arguing. Here's the Jewish Zionist conspiracy on the left in its most overt terms:
I think you are going to be unsuccessful to try to continue blogging on Kos or here to try to win over support by Dems for planning an illegal war on Iran waged at Israels' behest.
No I'll be very successful, because most democrats and liberals don't buy into the notion that America is doing anything on "behalf of Israel" or bought by hidden Jewish money or whichever else age-old bullshit story you're buying into.
America is about to bomb Iran because of a republican movement that couldn't give a crap about Israel. They are an incurious group of war mongers who use war to soothe insecurities in their fractured psyches and feel better about themselves. Glenn accurately targets this in 95% of this blog, which is why I revere him so much.
They are tough talking "Sober, Serious" narcissists with not a care in the world about the consequences of their actions.
They want to bomb Iran because it keeps their lurid heroic self images intact without having to admit what failures they are in the real world, and how badly Iraq failed.
Claimig they're puppets of Israel is everything that makes up the grand Zionist conspiracy bullshit and led to so much tragedy over the past thousand years.
It's like claiming Jews were secretly behind the Pope during the Crusades. It is pathetically weak intellectually vacuous self delusion.
AIPAC is not the great bogeyman hidden financier of all of America's ills.
You can round up every American Jew and deport them tomorrow, and you'll be stuck with the same group leading the republican party and America off a cliff. Here's a hint: It ain't Jewish.
a) You say this republican party is destroying the US with its policies. That can't be good for Israel, right?
I don't really know what's good for Israel, I don't live there. I really can't speak to it either way. If you're Irish, care to comment on what's good for Ireland? Or Italy if you're Italian?
b) if ADL, or Lieberman, or some jewish neocons are in bed with those republicans, they could possibly be harming Israel, right?
I don't know. I know that they're harming America. But I don't believe they're harming America because they're secret Israeli agents with dual loyalties. Although I hear that novel sold well in Russia in the 1900s.
c) how is it anti-semetic to point this out or discuss it?
It's anti-Semitic because you're linking their Jewishness as part of what you seem to think exposes their true motivations. This is highly dangerous.
They are fools.
They happen to be Jewish.
But they are fools.
Have you considered the possibility that some jews might've become tools for a bunch who may not care for, or be capable of, securing Israel?
There are Jewish fools everywhere. You can find them grouped wherever you want.
I can find a group of Jews who went to Vegas and lost all their money. This is not proof that there is a "hidden force at work in America working to lose their money in Vegas."
Outing Jews is a classic trope of the anti-Semite. Finding Jews in PNAC seems to mean a lot to some people. Maybe you should start taking a look at why this narrative still resonates so profoundly.
