@ Jebbie

A victory over what, WinSmith? Greenwald never said that the lack of coverage of the Palestinian's plight was due to "Jewish financing and media control."

And George W. Bush never explicitly said that Saddam Hussein was behind 9/11. Yet the inference is clear.

This is the double-standard Glenn constantly employs -- no one is allowed to infer what is left unsaid in his own linguistic manipulations, while he spends years decoding the unspoken inferences in those he critiques.

Chomsky's understanding of language does not just apply to the dominant hegemony. One can just as easily "Manufacture Dissennt" using the same age-old myths and icons embedded in historical language.

Just as when a dumbass like Chris Matthews cluelessly calls Barack Obama "articulate," we call him out for accidentally slipping into historical language power traps of condescension, so will I call out Glenn for his "hidden power" myths, explicit or implicit.

Yes, Obama is articulate. But the framework of Chris Matthews's condescension renders the comment charged with signified structural meaning.

The same thing with Glenn, whine as he might that I'm not allowed to critique his arguments with the same subtextual thematics he uses every day.

Glenn sets the table for age-old conspiracy narratives, then whines because he didn't "say" it. Neither did George W. Bush about Saddam Hussein.

But what's good for the goose better be good for the gander, Glenn. Or you're as hypocritical with your "do as I say, not as I do" double-talk as Fox News.

@ Holly McLachlan

Yes, it is. George W. Bush relied on many others who were known to be affiliated with him to push that lie (most notably, his VP). Glenn allows no one else to speak for him, nor is he blessed with a vast staff willing to shill for him, unlike our least popular President.

Glenn's army of dittoheads no more "speak for Glenn" than Fox News "speaks for Bush." Except that they, and you, work together to perpetuate bullshit about a grand silencing campaign underway in Washington and the American media.

Swap out "Kehillah" with "AIPAC" and "American Jewish Committee" with "Anti-Defamation League" and Chapter 7 from Henry Ford's "International Jew" would read like a Greenwald rant:

Lets play Greenwald or Ford:

HOW THE JEWS USE POWER

Two organizations, both of which are as notable for their concealment as for their power, are the New York Kehillah and the American Jewish Committee. The Kehillah is the most potent factor in the political life of New York; it is the organization which today wields so large an influence on the rest of the world, which consciously issues a program which on one side is pro-Jewish and on the other anti-Gentile. It is the central group, the inner government, whose ruling is law and whose act is the official expression of Jewish purpose. It offers a real and complete instance of a government within a government in the midst of America's largest and politically most powerful city, and it also constitutes the machine through which pro-Jewish and anti-Gentile propaganda is operated and Jewish pressure brought to bear against certain American ideas. That is to say, the Jewish government of New York constitutes the essential part of the Jewish Government of the United States.
