I can't even believe someone would be do dishonest to claim that U.S. support for Israel doesn't help Al Qaeda recruitment. That's just so obvious that nobody with a functioning brain or an ounce of intellectual integrity could deny it.

You have started with your conclusion, that our support for Israel is "destructive" to this country, and for all your rage, shrillness and overuse of the words "corrupt," "craven," and "dishonest" to describe anyone who disagrees with you, I'd like to remind you of something you learned in law school back when you were still practicing law:

The burden of proof is on you, clown.

You claim this support for Israel has been so "costly" for this country, then prove it. Stop alluding to it. Prove it.

The entire structure of Al Qaeda was formed by Saudis in the late 1980s and early 1990s as a response to U.S. meddling in SAUDI ARABIA.

The terrorists who attacked us on 9/11 described American imperialism and a racist zealotry as their primary motivation.

The 1990s -- the period of Al Qaeda's greatest recruitment successes -- were also the period when Israel and Palestine were closest to peace.

The last 5-6 years -- the period where Israel has been its most violent towards Palestine -- Al Qaeda recruitment has been abysmal and declining to the point where Bin Laden is putting out desperate recruitment videos.

You're a fraud, Glenn.

You hate Israel, and so you want it to be so that our support for Israel has been "destructive" for this country. You provide no evidence. You let your followers spew the usual conspiracy theories about hidden power and PNAC's secret Jewish agenda and how the invasion of Iraq was about "Israel" and it's all a heaping pile of bullshit.

But do you have to be so dishonest as to distort the reality that our support for Israel is not a primary, not a secondary, and barely a tertiary influence on those who "hate" us?

Iran will negotiate with us. So will every other country in the Middle East. We have solid diplomatic relationships with Egypt and Jordan, two countries with significant ties to the Palestinian people.

Nothing about the middle class Saudi terrorists who joined Al Qaeda to wage "jihad" suggested Israel or the plight of the Palestinians (whom the Saudis have never given a crap about) were anywhere in their minds.

But you, Glenn Greenwald, need your agenda solved. So clearly it's our support for Israel that's behind our problems in the middle east.

You never demonstrate how or why. You never explain why it is that Al Qaeda doesn't recruit angry Palestinians determined to strike back at the U.S. for supporting the occupier who punishes them.
