@ Derbig Mooser

No, not all statements about Israel come from anti-Jewish pathology. Most don't.

Some do.

This:

----

Jewish money bought up all the politicians, and it could be followed up with some devestating statistics.

----

Is tragic conspiracy theory nonsense, but nothing new to history.

Arab outrage over Gaza carnage targets Egypt

By SARAH EL DEEB, Associated Press Writer Sarah El Deeb, Associated Press Writer – Tue Dec 30, 2:55 pm ET

CAIRO, Egypt – The Israeli bombing campaign in the Gaza Strip has unleashed outrage across the Middle East — but the anger is being vented as much against Egypt as it is at Israel.

Protesters have attacked Egyptian embassies, accusing Cairo of helping Israel's longtime blockade of the territory and even giving a green light for the offensive — a sign of the gulf between an Arab public and some U.S.-allied governments that dislike Gaza's Hamas rulers.

----

Jews control Egypt, too. Amazing, that.

The truth is no one wants the Palestinians. Not Egypt. Not Syria. Not Jordan. Not Lebanon.

The entire Arab middle east loves that the Palestinians are trapped, because then Israel can be the scapegoat and keep the heat off their own governments.

Rather than try to support, resettle and absorb the refugees (like Israel did in 1948 when these same countries expelled their Jews), they keep them there as a pawn.

But I'm sure it's all Israel's fault.

@ Kitt

Go find them yourself. I already made the claims and cited them when the discussion was going on. I'm not posting them again because you're too lazy to go back and read the thread.

I also just posted more evidence on this board of looney global Jewish financing conspiracies to buy the American government. I'm just waiting for someone to start linking to Henry Ford's Dearborn Independent to discuss Jewish control of Hollywood. Pretty soon, you people will loop right into Joe McCarthy territory.

But I'm the one who's not liberal enough. Oh the irony.

@ kitt

Kitt, answer me this. Is it possible for anti-Semitism to dress itself up as legitimate criticism of Israel?

If so, what would this look like?

Should we worry about this? Or should we simply dismiss it, since anti-Semitism is overblown anyway. Why just read the non-anti-Semitism directed at the recent Madoff Ponzi Scheme, in which entire Yahoo message boards melted down with global Jewish conspiracy theory rage, since Madoff's Jewishness clearly is why he was a crook.

@ Derbig Mooser

Your lack of concern for the tinder-box that is global anti-Semitism is obvious for all to see. Clearly it's not an issue we need be concerned with. Rant away about hidden financing conspiracies and how "Jewish money" secretly controls Washington to favor Israel.

You can always mix in some dual loyalty accusations towards American Jews. The odious Joe Lieberman works nicely (never mind the avalanche of Jews on the left who critique Israel all the time).

No worries, broheim!!

I wish you weren't so persecuted and silenced by those cheapening "anti-Semitism" by daring to be sensitive to global conspiracy theory talk. The Holocaust was, like 63+ years ago, dude!! Ancient history.

And besides, today we learned that the "official Holocaust story" has changed since 1960.

Who is changing it? Who is behind this? What is their shadowy motive?

I'm just asking questions.

@ Pedinska

No one's asked me for my critiques of Israeli policy. This thread is so filled with vile hatreds and unhinged anti-Israel rants, it's not like there's much room for a real discussion. It's all "Jewish money," and suspicions of behind the scenes Jewish control of Washington, a paranoia that goes back centuries and was pretty much the entire basis of Hitler's "stabbed in the back" policies, the pogroms in Russia at the turn of the 20th Century, and the right wing Christian investigations of "Hollywood Communists" in the 1950s.

It's the same old tired shtick, and it's as dangerous as it is tragic.

I've tried to get people to consider the conditions of resettlement in 1948, the fact that millions of Jews were expelled from Arab countries at the same time Palestinians were uprooted, but naturally no one is concerned with that.

I've tried to get people to think about the complicity of Palestine's Arab neighbors in keeping them bordered up and in abject poverty to maintain Israel as the bogeyman of the region and keep the heat off their own governments.

I've tried to get people to note Israel's 20% Arab citizen population, to no avail.

I have deep sympathy for Palestine, and was a firm supporter of Rabin, Clinton and the two state solution. I believe Palestine deserves its own Nation.

Apparently this makes me a crazy pro-Zionist or something.

Palestine is complicit in its suffering. Israel reacts as any nation would to terrorism, and shut the borders after the Second Intifada in 2001. Rightly so.

That being said, Israel's recent aggressions, both here and last year in Lebanon, are grossly overblown, and should be critiqued for their severity.

America desperately needs to get involved, and I look forward to Obama/Clinton providing some form of active negotiation in helping Palestine achieve Statehood. This problem has grown significantly worse under BushCo.

WinSmith: Oh, you silly people, stop with all of your stupid conspiracy theories and listen to my conspiracy theory about the tinder box that is global, worldwide antisemitism! It's a REAL conspiracy theory!

----

If you think being aware of the dangers of millions of people buying into anti-Semitic conspiracy theories is itself a conspiracy theory, there's not much for us to talk about.

Pick up a history book some time. Might do you some good.
