You're hilarious. Your entire post is filled with nothing but speculation and your own ham-fisted "interpretations" of Glenn's argument, yet you claim the he's the "conspiracy theorist."
Glenn's theories about how far Washington politicians and American media are "willing to go" in criticizing Israel, written about extensively last December when the media refused to describe the Israel-Hamas war as an "Attack on GAZA!" (tm), betrays his buying into the classic conspiracy theory of hidden Jewish power controlling Washington and the media.
The fact Glenn is Jewish doesn't excuse him, it only explains why his anti-Israel rage is so pronounced. Like Roy Cohn before him, Greenwald hopes to purge his demons through prosecutions. Roy Cohn wanted to purge the Communist Jews in Hollywood working to destroy America from within. Greenwald sees the same demons. Sadly, like Cohn, he doesn't realize that these phantoms come from within.
Iran is led by one of the most repressive regimes in the world. The potential for them to go nuclear is as troubling as when Bush slept and North Korea went nuclear. This is why liberals are as concerned as anyone, and why liberals can and should insist on inspections and harsh investigation.
A country can go nuclear in as little as two years. Heck, the Soviets went nuclear after WWII by 1947. The world community has a right to be concerned, and to counter the Neo-Con B.S. (war!), we should seek alternative sanctions and inforced inspections.
Whining, like Glenn just did, that Israel doesn't face "the same" criticism as Iran is a surefire ticket to irrelevancy. This simply feeds the wingnuts, who claim the left draws false equivalencies between democracies and dictatorships.
Israel, like every country in the world, is hardly perfect. But what that has to do with Iran's recent provocative steps, only months after stealing an election? Who the hell knows. Just another chance to bash Israel for not living up to some standard that only exists in Greenwaldia.
(1) the more I babble idiotically, the more TV bookings I'll get;
(2) the more I babble idiotically, the sooner the media will shun me.
Imagine what must be going on in someone's head to assert both of those things in the same comment.
And then:
(3) if I keep talking critically about Israel, the media will shun me (which, everyone knows, is something only paranoid anti-Semites believe actually happens).
What's so hard to grasp? You're a dancing clown. For awhile, the media will entertain your "all roads lead to Israel bashing" idiocies.
At some point the media will grow tired of you, and your bookings will drop off. At that point, you'll blame pernicious forces made up of AIPAC, PNAC and Dual Loyalists in Washington seeking to silence your "truth."
Either way, you win.
And I notice how troubled you are by your legion of fans (the ten or so Greenwald worshippers) immediately assuming Arianna Huffington was "gotten to" in Israel by secret monied Jews buying her off to help Israel.
It's all a conspiracy, Glenn. The secret Jewish funding has taken over the media, gotten people like Arianna Huffington to go along with the script, and soon they'll be coming for you next.
But, in the interim, you can take your conspiracy theories about how "no one's talking about" things to every network in the nation.
Poor, persecuted Glenn Greenwald. Like Charles Krauthammer, won't somebody think of the poor issues everyone's afraid to talk about, while you're talking about it in the national media?
Speaking of cognitive dissonance...
Hey Glenn, since the entire media, Israel, the United States, all of Washington, and liberal networks like MSNBC and The Huffington Post are all against you, at what point do you climb the clock tower with the rifle?
Listening to you defend Iran as a rational actor while bashing Israel for no discernible reason whatsoever, continues your long, downward spiral into reactionary Ann Coulter level nutbaggery.
Which explains why you're on MSNBC.
The more you babble idiotically, the more network bookings you'll get, just like the clowns who make up crap on the right.
While you're claiming Israel is violent with your "attack on GAZA!" (tm) propaganda framing, how's about commenting on Israel's reaction to Saddam's unprovoked scud missile attacks in 1991? Since they're so violent and all.
How's about commenting on Israel arming the PLO in the 1990s and allowing complete border freedom for Gaza and the West Bank as a prelude to the peace process, actions that resulted in the assassination of Yitzak Rabin by a right wing nutbag?
What are comparable steps Iran has taken towards its oppressed citizens?
Iran just hijacked an election. Ahmadinijad is not just the "wacky uncle" you make him out to be, but a core philosophy behind the radicals who control the Iranian government.
You seem not bothered at all if Iran gets nukes, but the rest of the world is, liberals included, and rightly so.
But go on drawing your false equivalencies to Israel. Eventually, when the media begins to shun your rants, you can blame it all on the Jewish media's powerful behind the scenes attempts to silence you. And you and David Duke will finally be completely ideologically compatible.
What a steaming load you just dropped today, Glenn. I'm ashamed for all of us, but mostly for myself for having dropped by and read it.
The only false equivalency in play here is your pathetic attempts to smear Israel by linking it to dictator states simply because you pathologically loathe it.
Get help, Glenn.
Israel is simply the dancing phantasm of your subconscious. The bogeyman talisman representing deep psychological issues.
Don't worry. You're not the first who used Israel to project this rage onto. On the right, they do it with Islam.
